best in-case humidifer?

1

what do you guys like in your cases or guitars for Gretsches?

i have an older slightly larger version of the Planet Waves Small Instrument Humidifier for one, and one of those green tubey things that i keep in the case near the cutaway for the other. Need something for the new one, and would love some suggestions, thanks!

It really matters what your local climate is like though. If you live in Florida, extreme humidity might be a problem and a de-humidifier is in order. You don't want to dry the hell out of wood too much though. I've found that things are pretty much right on here in Nor Cal. I'm just saying to consult a humidity meter if possible to not dry the hell out of things and make wood shrink.

Those little bags with white pellets in them seem to do the trick. I just collect the hell out of them and keep them in a baggie if needed. I have a Golden Rod in the studio for the things hanging on the wall as well as one in my gun safe. I keep an eye on the humidity level though. I'll plug the Golden Rod in during wet winter months and then leave it unplugged during dry summer periods. Just assuming that all moisture needs to be sucked out of the air is not the best program is all I'm saying...

I'm aware of different climes. Im in New Mexico, where humidity runs about 10 to 15 percent, often lower. Guitars I've obtained recently came from NC and NorCal, so i know theyre used to wetter climes.

I usually travel with silica packs when i'm going to more humid places than here, which is usually about anywhere else, lol :)

Goldenrod was a salt flats streamliner built by the Summers brothers in the 60's. Four engined! 409 MPH :)
