my pedals just get dusty,like guitars every once in a while ya gotta bathe them&Tighten things up.i was on e-bay& there ere TS10's going for 100$ talking about " vintage"? yuk,yuk! guess i'll be losing mine soon,hai'd rather have a 808anyway,but so dose everybody else

I have a 1970s Distortion+ that's lost almost all of the print off the casing. i don't try to beat pedals up...but on the other hand, it's inherent in their function that you have to stomp on them with dirty shoes. most of the wear on my stomp boxes is from being carried in a bag with cords, mics, and the like. a proper pedalboard would sort that out.
