Tim - I will record some clips of Joe playing it. Interesting note - the output transformer came from an amp that was played by Hubert Sumlin. So it's got some mojo.
Bob - fine steel woll to de-gloss the covering. Then a very light mist of amber lacquer to add a few decades of bar use. Sandpaper on the corners and edges in a few spots. Then the faintest coating of tacky craft adhesive and some dust from a vacuum cleaner bag. You rub it into the corners and nooks and crannies real good. Then potassium permanganate inside the back to age the exposed wood.
