I went to the local Mom & Pop to try out a Fender Mustang 1 amp so I could play with headphones. They didn't have one. My apologies to my family, who feel I am sometimes too loud, but I was distracted and came home with something a little older that does not have a headphone jack.
It appears to be all original except a ground plug has been added, fairly clean except some rusting on the metal handle trim. All controls work as they should - quietly. I was told it is a 1978 and I feel I paid a fair price for it.
I got my wife's blessing by telling her that if I have to, I could sell it to one of you guys for what I paid for it. I better keep the volume down when she's home.
I'm pretty sure that a grounded plug was stock by that year. Red plug end, right?
Great score by the way! I have a SF VibroChamp in a Musicmaster Bass cabinet so I can use a 12" (4 ohm) speaker. The original cabinet smelled like the world's biggest ashtray.

I use to have one of those. Regret selling it now.
Played a Champ like that right about that time...cranked it all the way, put a pillow behind it and in front of it, and mic'ed it. Sounded HUGE.
Those are fun amps.

Excellent choice. I've had a SF Vibro Champ since the '80's. I've not found another amp in the same size/low power that sounds half as good.
Great amp!! Like R-BillyB said above..
Great amps, and I'm slowly working on mine. I've got a new cab with a 12" baffle, and I still have to order some parts to "service it".
Fun to play through, and so "Fendery"
I want.
I love thos little champs.
