Ok My lab series blew a resistor in the moog compressor so my guess is a bad transistor(solid state). My Crate Palomino is way to muddy. Anybody else have this problem. My guess is the speaker, I've got tubes on the way and a magnavox 12" alnico coming straight out of the 50's. I hope it will hold the watts, the Ohms match perfectly and I never turn the amp up past 6. Any help with these topics is welcome.

Your '50's Magnavox speaker will handle the 16 watts from the Crate nicely. Should sound Jensen-ish. With the other piece, it'll probably cost more to fix than to replace.

I am highly dedicated to this particular Lab series. I don't know why. Its sort of a metaphor of life to me I guess. I got the transistors just don't have the skills. If any one out there has a Lab series L2 head I'd be happy to buy it. Yeah the speaker came in right after I posted and it sounds amazing. Has a bit of coil rattle when I play the open low E. Any body know how to go about fixing that.
