Fender Stage Lead (SS) - Tech help?

Hello, I came across an older 80s Fender Stage Lead combo for a fair amount. 100 watts (solid state), 12" blue label Special Design (Eminence made) speaker and solid wood housing if I see it right. The amp works except the reverb. When turning the reverb knob up the tone starts to break down and it sounds ugly distorted. When turned down completely everything is fine. But a Fender ain't a Fender without. It gets more annoying the more I turn the knob up. I'd like to fix that because the clean channel sounds really nice. Huge headroom and warm, fat bottom.
Any ideas where to start? Thanks, Sascha

I had a couple of Fender SS amps in the 80s. Reverb was a problem on both of them. Quick fix...pulled the RCA cables from the amp to the reverb tank, replaced them, done. Try that first.

I picked up one of those back in the 80s at a garage sale. I think I paid $10 for it. I used it for several years. A nice little amp. I didn't have any reverb issues, so sorry I don't have any advice there.

Thanks, I'll give it a try and swap the cables to and from the tank. But I wouldn't call this amp 'little'.
