What are the drawbacks of removing a reverb tank bag on a combo amp? My amp has a nice spring reverb tank in it, but it sounds a touch too dark. Would removing the vinyl cover or bag from it free up some soup in the reverb or will it cause weird feeback issues? What's your experience with this? I'm looking to make it more surfy sounding, although it's pretty dang surfy as is, but you know me, I'm never satisfied, so I thought I'd tinker with the idea. Is that doesn't work, I'll probably replace the entire tank with a 3 spring tank since I am assuming this one is a 2 spring tank. Where's the best place to buy a new reverb tank that explains what the codes mean on the tanks so I can be sure to order the right one the first time. The amp is solid state, so plate voltages don't really matter (at least I don't think the numbers will be the same). Thanks.
Chris
