There is one for sale locally. Cosmetically fair. Have not had a chance to look at it or hear it. But...is this a cool amp to have? Thanks

I used to have a late 70's silverface Champ that I played both guitar and sitar through (with a FRAP pickup) in a 10-piece east-west fusion group. It sounded great and beat all other small amps I tested at the time for capturing the complexity of the sitar's tone. Even used it at Carnegie Hall!
If it's priced right and you have a use for an amp of that size, it should be a winner.

Yes, and put a Weber Signature 10" in there ASAP.

Hi mate,
Very handy little amp to have!! From what I understand, there's not a heap of difference between the BF & SF circuits (from what I've heard at least). The stock speaker (Oxford) can sometimes get a tad harsh when pushed; I'm currently trying out a Jensen C8R in mine (might go for the P8R yet).
Hope this helps.

How much is it? FWIW, the hand of CBS didn't really change the Champ all that much even in the 70s.

paisley & ziess are right -- any BF or SF Champ is a very good thing indeed. The answer is a resounding YES.
