Obviously the Excelsior is also a TIME MACHINE that transported the couple back to the 1950's... and they're trying to figure out how to reverse the process because they look so SQAURE!

he's explaining that in order to plug this in, first he had to cut off this weird three prong thingee...

fender didn't introduce reverb into a combo until 1963 with the vibroverb..

this is supposed to be a take on the earlier 50's amps, like premiers and valcos...they had trem only

if you look at the great vintage47 line, none have reverb & david only recently added trem

It's a genuine photo from the Fender chemistry laboratory from the 1950's. The construction team fell in love with each other and left the company. And the Excelsior was forgotten for 60 years, until now.

what was really cool is that paul plugged the reso into it too, now I'd like the guitar and amp together.

The reso really sounds good through the Excelsior. I'd like to hear Paul, or someone, play a big Gretsch hollow body through it.

Just checked a prominent UK dealer's store price for the Excelsior amp — £228. The same store has the Blues Junior 111 at £455 (black Tolex) or £509 (tweed); and the Super Champ X2 combo at £310. This seems to say to me either that the Excelsior is an absolute bargain or it's really been made down to a price. Maybe both.
