Well the Gretsch is obvious, but what is it about that amp that you dig so deeply? I'm curious about older Gibson stuff. It never seems to have gotten the cult status of other brands, but I can't imagine it's an inferior product given Gibson's share of the guitar market at the time.

It just sounds; Brilliant, clean, crisp, great reverb and tremelo!
Doesn't sound solid state at all.
An exception.
I remember playing one back in early 1974 and it was one of the best amps I played.
They had a whole series of them.
Only a short run too.

Do you think they get the Rodney Dangerfield treatment because they're 'too clean?' I could listen to Les Paul playing a GA-40 all day and all night, but that's not a sound one associates with dirty rock and roll.

Here's a quick Video I made last night showing it's clean attributes,

*Sounds kind of like a Gretsch Executive Amp too via it's brilliance.

That's a nice little amp! Great demo, Dr. MD

Yeah, but Dr. G can make a Gorilla amp sound sweet.

Maybe I will check one out. even super clean llooking ones are cheap. As long as the sound stays clean and it doesn't have the dreaded and despised master volume, it might be jammin thing for the BirdMan sound.
