The Irish rockabilly siren was on telly tonight. Slap bass fans better have a change of underpants at the ready!
I have it on YouTube and also for download in DVD quality. Enjoy. I did

Thanks man. I dug it.
That's her husband Darrel Higham on guitar, one of the friendliest guys I've ever met, a musician's musician, and a true Cochranite. I was lucky enough to share a stage with him once. His wife is absolutely top-notch!!
Yeah, Mr Higham frequents Dublin a lot. Top notch guy.
No problemo Mr. Gretschington ;)
Beautiful.
It's true, Darrel is one of the finest pickers around and a gentleman to boot. Seems he married a very purty and talented lady too...
Deke said: Seems a married a very purty and talented lady too...You're not kidding! Then again, he's not exactly the hunchback of the Notre Dame himself, is he? Some guys have all the luck...
Oprez, the DVD-quality link is not working as the file is too big. Any remedy...?
That's some bassline.. some song! Makes me proud to be a Dubliner!
ditto Tsar, ditto
Deke! I've had a few comments about that. i didn't know people had to have a "premium" account with Rapidshare to download it so here it is on Megaupload instead
Man, thank you for these clips, and the heads-up to Imelda and Darrel, et al. That's some serious high-focus funkabilly...great players, full intensity, great look, Imelda belts and melts a vocal besides looking great. And a bodhran besides! Does that make it CELtic funkabilly?
These folks got lots of the true juice, and I'll be looking for more of them. Very cool.
Her and the boys are something else alright. I'll be going to see her play in Cork in December. Dublin psychobilly legends Spellbound are on the bill too.
As for the bodhrán...The Shakin' Pyramids used one aswell
Who is the bass player? It seem that I've seen him before. That guy Rocks!
He's Al Gare. Maybe you saw him with King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys??
Cool to have another Irish member on the boards - welcome OPrez.
This freaked me out. Phenomenal.
And she is freakin' hot.
I loved it, thanks for posting. That whole band could really groove together. And as far as Imelda, I know the stripe in the hair isn't new but the swirl was cool!
That was great! I love the guitar tone too, it reminds me of Cake. Everything else was great as well!
This is truly one of the greatest things about the GDP...our European brethern alerting us to musicians who are making great music that don't have near the notoriety on this side of the pond. Thanks OPrez for sharing this with us.
If you look closely, at about 36 seconds in when the guitar enters, you'll see Jeff Beck looking on from the corner table in the middle of the frame. There's a good shot of him again at about 2:19. Cool, eh? I was lucky enough to be at the taping.

That'd make it "funk O'Billy" then, innit?
I honestly don't hear the "funk" in it...?
It's Diddley-Billy.
Thank you, sir.
