Tidal,
I've been trying to vote you up, but it won't let me. Don't know why...
K
Hi Konrad,
Glad you like it. I noticed that the tab I wrote is not accurate. So scratch that.
it's like e a#b d a# c f# a# b e d c b a g f# f e
Is there any other part of the song you'd like recorded?
Cheers,
Jan
how about some tabs for the intro to martini time? can't figure that one out for the life of me
Martini time, never really tried that song out.
I can do
Hey Tidal,
Believe it or not, the hardest thing so far is that first chord. I think I'm making it too complicated, but can you tab it? I'm grabbing something wrong. I think.
Whew nice playing tidal, and that guitar sounds great. What pickup do you have in the bridge there?
@Konrad, it's this E with the blue note, A# or Bb, don't really know the difference.
e-- b-10 g-8 d-- a-- e0-
Is it easy to figure out the other parts, or should I tab it after all?
@Adam, Thanks, I swapped the stock bridgeDearmond pickup for a Gretsch bucker. It sounds pretty good. With high gain it gets kinda muddy, so I mainly use my neck pick up for that kind of stuff.
Hey Tidal,
I figured out the chord last night, but damn if I can't make the reach with finger across the fretboard to the low e... But it looks like you aren't grabbing it now.
If you could tab it, that would be great. I've almost got it - actually, if you just tab the picked notes, I can figure out the drone notes with the fingers or just bluff it.
THANKS!!!
ONe other thing - on the lead - can you tab a couple of those "noise" chords up the neck? Pretty cool, but I'm only kind of getting them.
K
Hi Konrad, yeah , that's a tricky part. I got kinda big hands as well, so I screw up from time to time, as you could see in the clip, :D. It looks like I play it differently every time.
Noise chords I'll have to tab. This weekend I'll be out of the house, so I'll have to postpone it.
Awesome that's cool you can play marijuana thats my favotite rev song. I tried to learn it while ago with no luck but i think ill give it another try.
@Twangomatic, I'll see what I can do.
Man if I had the time and patients to tab, I'd help out on some of the difficult Rev. tunes.
Reverend Horton Heat's Big Blue Car Revival The Party in Your Head Sleeper Coach It hurts your Daddy Wiggle Stick Galaxy 500 Like a Rocket What's Reminding Me of You
Some of the solos are very difficult, and many I'm still struggling with, but the chord progressions are pretty straight forward.
Galaxy 500
G Db G Db G Db G Eb.
G C7 A7 D7
I tabbed out the main riffs for Marijuana in case anbody is interested. It's not totally right, but i could'nt find one online so threw it up there.
Probably pretty easy for most people but someone may get some use out of actually seeing it.
This is turning into a great thread!
Hey Tidal...
I've pretty much learned the whole thing. I played that Youtube clip until I just couldn't not get it right.
THANKS!!!
ONe question, I'm not the only one stumped by the intro (and parts of the solo) to Martini Time. WOuld you have time to put that up played slow?
K
Hi Konrad, so all those youtube hits were from you, :D
Regarding Martini time, I'd have to learn that intro and the solo first.
The way I usually do that, is to try and see how far I can get just by playing along with the song, then the tricky parts by opening the song in this wave editor, like Goldwave, slowing it down(but keeping the pitch), selecting and repeating it part by part, until I figured out all the notes. It's kinda tedious, but it gets the job done eventually.
I guess I'll be a little preoccupied in the near future, but I could give it a shot.
Cheers,
Jan
Thanks dude,
I don't have a Goldwave editor like that... Sounds great, especially for Rev stuff.
PS. Still hitting on the Youtube link, as there are bits and pieces that are simply awesome ammunitiion for my rockabilly gigs.
Hi Konrad,
As far as I know, Goldwave is shareware.
http://www.goldwave.com/release.php
You might find some freeware wave editors on hitsquad's software music machine.
This one looks promising.
http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/QuickAudio/
You can host VST plug ins (amp simulators) as well, so I might use this one myself.
I could make a Marihuana clip for you guys though.
Anything would be cool, Tidal!
Dude, I keep trying to vote you up, but it won't let me. No idea why.
