Sometimes I despair of playing a guitar because I get tired of tweaking to chase away the wolves. Gonna try re-intonating as you recommend. Got one offender specifically in mind.
I've actually had the least intonation trouble with my old Country Gent with its bar bridge. I figure the zero fret and the low vintage frets help keep things a little closer to neutral. With that guitar I feel free to chord all over the neck because I know that it's going to sound sweet (at least to my less precise standards)!
