David Byrne on a gretsch

Love how he is able to get heavy and funky at the same time.... around 4 1/2 minutes in.... I think sometimes he surprises himself as a guitarist.

2

I have to like this, since my on-stage look in the mid-eighties was a '67 double-cut 6120 and saddle shoes!

Man! He still rocks! Thanks for posting.

Awesome....Thanks for posting Hipbone! I couldn't leave it here though so I went other Byrne youtube clips, then onto the '02 Talking Heads RRHOF induction, then other clips, then onto reading about Hilly Kristal which of course led to a romp of CBGB history.

He's an under-rated artist, for sure.

Wonder what he stomped on to change the sound and what he was plugged into, amp-wise?

To me it sounds like a dimed Vox....

Man this was a fabulous version and a great band. My buddy Frank Gallagher was Talking Heads FOH engineer for many years. Used to hire me occasionally to help run stage for the band. This is a clip of a show we did at UCLA in 78. I totally remember that little red bass of Tina's.
