Just wanted to share this with you all. Yeah, they're older than the Beatles, but they can play, sing, look like the Beatles for people with a stigmatism and look like they are having a good time doing it. For those of us who weren't born yet and couldn't experience it ourselves, I give credit to these thankless, often mocked heroes of guitar for keeping their music alive in a live setting. Enjoy!

The guy playing bass looks more like "Slammin'" Barry Wom than like Paul. At least he's playing left handed, eh? It's dreadful when Beatle tribute bands have a right handed Paul.
Yeah, they're not in their prime age wise compared to the time period they are trying to portray as the Beatles, but they are very good and I would be happy to sit and watch them live.
I've seen them twice in Louisville Chris, and would go see them again in a heartbeat, I especially like the early stuff that they do. They have the mannerisms down perfectly, next best to seeing the Beatles live in concert!

I love the Beatles, especially the early stuff. I've seen these guys a couple times and let me tell you, they are GREAT! Watching and hearing, you would think they ARE the Beatles. If you're a Beatles fan and you get a chance to see them, I dare you not to get chills!

These guys work constantly, and do an amazing job of it. As to being "mocked", and not thanked for their efforts, their fans are out there and very supportive. Isn't one of our GDPers a member of this group?

Deed, I meant mocked as in, cover bands or tribute bands are often crappy and therefore mocked. These guys are not and ROCK! If I thought they were I wouldn't have posted this. I want to see them live in Philly or NJ. Anyone know their tour schedule?

I keep meaning to catch the U.K based Bootleg Beatles, but never get round to it.
Yeah, the original toaster pickups were the best IMO on a RIC of any kind, but I prefer the 12 strings more!
Wenzel, you might also check out Rain. I believe that its members were in the original Beatlemania show on Broadway back in 1978. They are also right up there at the top in terms of their quality. I saw their show a few years ago at one of the showrooms in Reno, Nevada and they put on an extremely entertaining show. I see that they are going to be on the east coast in June and I could heartily recommend that you check them out!
One Caveat: Rain has a right-handed bass player!
But, one question that I have about these guys in the Beatles tribute bands...why do none of them have any grey hair? They are certainly my age or older, in most cases.
I saw Rain last year and the Bassist played left handed and when he sat down to play an acoustic with the other two on Norweigian Wood he played right handed. Cool stuff.
Those guys come here to Ponca at least once a year. Sometimes twice. There's an act playing in Branson that's endorsed by George Harrison's sister. They're great. They do more of the later Beatle's stuff. They did a fantastic "A Day in the Life". No augmentation by sequencers, backing tracking, etc. All live. Sounded great...
That sounds like Rain, Joel. They do all of the later stuff. While that later material is live, there is a fifth guy off stage who is doing some additional keyboard stuff to be able to get that big sound.

1964 is a good act. They always visit with the audience after a show, I think. They play the Birchmere here in Arlington VA twice a year.
I think we're going to catch RAIN this summer if possible.
I think Rain did a PBS special a while back. 1964 has played in my area a couple of times. I haven`t seen them yet, but they got great reviews.
The "1964" guys are tops. Really super nice guys, too. Mark (John) and I have traded gear a lot and two of my old Gretsches used to belong to him and he's got a couple of my old ones. Nicest guys in show biz.

Liverpool Legends cover the entire catalog. Starting with Ed Sullivan and ending with Get Back, complete with costume changes. Louise Harrison actually hand picked the band members and appears to answer questions from the audience at intermission. The web doesn't do them justice, but by the 3rd song from the front row I thought I was watching the Anthology DVD's. Totally forgot I was watching a tribute band.
Fantastic post. I've seen a few and really appreciate the one's who go all the way with the gear. 1964 has the whole package.
