Any Emmylou Harris fans in the crowd?

I just saw this again and wanted to share it. Rodney Crowell is singing backup and listen to the twin work of Albert Lee on Telecaster and Hank DeVito on his Emmons pedal steel. This was from German TV in 1977.

I've always liked her, and just by chance my local "guitar doc" sets up many of her instruments.
He's got several pictures of her with a new guitar that he's set up, and a nice note from her on how well it plays.
She's a classic for sure, and has been for a long time in my book.

Don't tell Conchieta, but I have a secret love affair with Emmy Lou. Sings like an angel.

Always hated her hippie-era politics, but as a songwriter, musician, and performer, Emmylou is a class act.
"From Boulder to Birmingham" still gets me right in the chest every time I hear it. Wonderful.

Oh, yeah. She's tops in my book as a singer & songwriter.
She's aged gracefully, too . . . a beautiful lady.

My dad is a huge fan. I hated listening to her as a kid, but as an adult I can understand why. I just got a greatest hits compilation a few months ago because I couldn't get "Two More Bottles of Wine" out of my head. She's playing an outdoor show this summer with Steve Martin's old timey banjo outfit as the openers. I doubt I'll go, but the people watching alone will probably be worth the price of admission. One thing Portland has no shortage of is old hippies.

I love her, one of the most beautiful women ever.

I've always loved Emmylou! Ever since her album Luxury Liner came out. I'm also very fond of her album and touring videos with Mark Knopfler from Dire Straits, All The Road Running.

One of my favorite albums by Emmylou is Evangeline. One of the great crimes of the 20th century is that is was never released on CD or remastered. Oh, the humanity!

My clip that I linked to above was from a special Chet Atkins and Friends. There are many things that I have admired about Chet, and one of those is his ability to put politics and personal feelings aside and enjoy the music. I don't think Emmy Lou's politics ever entered into his thinking when he asked her to be on the show. Of course, they had worked together quite a lot before that. Political differences help make the world go 'round, but I hope I can more closely follow Chet's example and just enjoy the music. I think that's what we all want to do. Emmy Lou is a beautiful woman with incredible talent. I could listen to her sing all day.

You bet, Bear. One of my favorite albums is "Angel Band", featuring Vince Gill on mandolin and harmony vocals.

I always loved Emmylou when she, Dolly Parton, and Linda Ronstadt formed "Trio" and this is one of my favorites of their collaboration.

I did not bring up politics when I started this thread, but since it has been brought up, here is my opinion on the matter.
You know we all have political opinions and celebrities are people just like us. Why shouldn't they be allowed to profess their opinions just like we do? Yes, they reach many more people than we do, but you can either agree with them, disagree with them , or don't listen to them.
Freedom of speech is for everyone.
The only celebrity I have a problem with Is Hanoi Jane because I feel strongly that she committed treason and was never punished for it. To this day, I will not watch anything that Jane Fonda is in. Spouting politics is one thing, committing treason is quite another.
Uncle Grumpy, go pop the corn.

Never let it be said that just because I disagree with Emmylou's politics, that I can't appreciate and enjoy her musical talent. She's loaded with it (talent, that is). To each his/her own.

I saw Emmylou in the 70s with the Hot Band featuring James Burton. I knew how lucky I was.

Emmylou is a dear friend, and she is still as gorgeous as she was way back when. Hate that. Love her.

I have always been a fan of hers as well.

The first song I heard Emmylou sing was the old Buck Owens' tune "Together Again" and I fell in love with her voice and followed her career. When Albert Lee was playing lead guitar for her, I was in heaven. As not only am I a huge Emmylou fan, I also am an equal fan of Albert.

I remember that one too, Bear. Beautiful job.
