The women at daycare say she dances all day long and recently we went to a show and she loved it and did indeed dance. She also chased around the big kids and had a great time.

Pappy- adorable. You know you could get thousands for her on Craig's list.
Really fun. And I couldn't dance that well if I tried. I get the feeling that when she goes off to college you'll look back at all her pictures and videos and suddenly realize that she's smiling in all of them. Wish I could meet her in person.

In the second video, she's working on her "rockin' headbanger" stance...

Okay, I figured I should tell you guys...I got a little misty watching that. My eyes never fail me when I see adorable children being adorable. That, and my hormones are insane for the next few weeks.
Pappy, you're very lucky.

She's pretty awesome, no doubt about it. Thanks for the kind words, everyone.
I'm trying to get it so everyone can meet her and Kim at the next GDP get-together. Hopefully it'll work out.
Tartan, whenever she gets really into something she bends over and yells at the ground. Not some crazy high pitched scream or anything, more like she's trying to vent a little bit of the excitement she feels. Today we went to Barnes & Noble and she was stoked to say the least. Wanting to talk to everyone, never wanting to be carried now that she knows how to walk and realized that Mom and Dad are never far behind to hold her hand in case the terrain gets a little rough.
It was awesome.

Oh man, and they had this guy who's job it was to blow bubbles. That's his job. Annie was all about those bubbles after she watched the bigger kids getting into it. The first one that popped on her you could see the confused look and the shock. It was a huge bubble, made from sticks and a rope, not a traditional plastic blow stick, and it was coming right for her and she was just staring and then pop and after a couple of seconds of confusement she was laughing and decided that she will get into the man's bucket of bubble soap. It didn't happen, but you could see she wouldn't let go of the idea.
Got some awesome pictures of it that I'll post on my blog later on today in case anyone's interested.

Enjoy that little doll while you can. My daughter moved out on her own this year. I've got empty nest syndrome. Enjoy her; these are the good old days.

Oh boy, Russ, those videos bring back so many wonderful memories for me of my own daughter and son. I miss those days with them, frankly, when things were innocent and there was no "attitude" being dished out towards me!
People told me that every year just keeps getting better and I can tell you that, in my case, that is really true. You just keep experiencing joy after new joy in their accomplishments and learning. Parenthood is really great.

She's recently started to throw tantrums when she doesn't get her way. The books said we had another four months or so before this starts (hopefully it'll stop four months early too).
I don't mind though. I was never really the kind of guy that could be embarassed very easily but Kim is and I'm impressed at how much being a mom has mellowed her out. Walking through Wal-Mart with Annie screaming to get DOWN and she wasn't too embarassed or at least didn't look it.
But even with the tantrums (which I think comes from Daycare honestly) she's still awesome and the way she's acting is great. She'll run away from you and stop, look at you over her shoulder saying "C'mon! Chase me!" It's fun stuff.
It's crazy how much you could love someone, huh?
She's always been into my annie too, but now she knows how to use the Bigsby (still needs a bit of work to realize it's not a pull-up bar) so it's fun to play a note and watch her face as she changes the pitch.

Yeah, I'm glad we have them.
I was watching Arrested Development with Kim and the mother said "It's not like there are manuals on how to raise kids." And Ron Howard, the narrator intejected "There are actually thousands of them." I laughed hysterically.
What a great show.

Treasure these moments, Russ.
You've heard this a billion times, I bet - kids grow up too fast. Mine are 22 and 17 and generally speaking, all of those years were wonderful in their own way.
But the years I find myself pining for are those 1-8 years. They are magical.
Enjoy.
