What is wrong with me?

  1. Yeah, that's my favorite Historic.

  2. Oh my!

Just one look and I'm getting such a fever! - my body's shaking and my fingers are twitching! 8-o

Excuse me! - I've got to grab a GreTscH! :D

  3. Very nice!

  4. congrats. the disease is callled Gretsch lover. no cure and nothing to worry about

  5. I still miss my historic :| , great guitar.

  6. I can imagine that in the hands of a looker like Susanna Hoffs......Mmmmmmmmmm

  7. ...and when she passes each man she passes goes Aaah!

  8. Played on just like it last night. Really dig these Cat Eyes and the creamy white is my fav. Will likely have one of these someday. I liked the feel of the guitar and the pickups where great. Did you score yours on ebay last week? If so I think you faired really well in the deal.

  9. Guitar arrived today at the office. I'm sending it home with a compadre to tinker with for awhile. I'm going to try not to get attached, but I doubt I will succeed. Seemed to be strung with 12s or 13s. I like 11s. There is a tiny nick in the binding on the neck near the headstock and some surface buckle-rash. The back and sides are indeed sparkle charcoal grey and the fretboard appears to be ebony or "ebonized". Neck appears to be stratight and the gold is still gold, too. The Taylor case it came in needs new hinges and is too deep for the guitar - close enough for what it does, though. It is surprisingly resonant considering the center plank. My buddy is a guitar electronics afficionado who will likely obsess over it return a verdict in the next few days. Gosh dern, though, she's pretty in person.

  10. See, to quit you have to really want to quit. So you're screwed...

  11. Don't worry about whether you need it or not. You should know by now that it has nothing to do with need and everything to do with want.

  12. Nice buy :D

The 3156 doesn't have a center plank, only the 3140 & 3141 thinlines have them. The 315X series are deeper and fully hollow. The DeArmond 2000 pickups have that real twangy Gretsch sound.

  14. That is one sexy chunk of guitar.... me want

  15. A nick on the binding? Taylor case??? OMG don't get attached to it... mail it to me and I will spare you the agony...........

  16. I saw two at the Philly Guitar Show last Summer. Great looking guitars. Congrats 8-)

  17. The guitar never made it home. My friend won't give it back and it's peaked his interest in Gretsch guitars. He handed me a check today instead of a guitar. I also won't have any 'splainin to do with the missus.

  18. I'm guessing that there was some previous dialog regarding this transaction possibly occurring between you and your friend b/c if it went down as you described, that would be an offense worthy of an ass-kicking in my book . . . regardless if the transaction was fortuitous or not.

Glad it worked out for the both of you, though! :)

  19. The check erased a mistake. I'm good with it.

  20. Beautiful guitar, congrats!
