The new Cliff Gallup model is here!!!

Oui, j'adore mon Gretsch soixante et un-vingt. Pourquoi ne pas construire au Canada? A l'enfer avec le cout!

– JimmyR

Huh?

Content que vous appréciiez votre 6120! Ce serait bien d'avoir Gretsch fait par nos amis dans le Nord, mais je suis sûr que les coûts l'empêchent. Bonne chance!

Glad you enjoy your 6120! It would be great to have Gretsch made by our friends in the North but I'm sure costs prevent it. Good luck!

Translation:

Yes, I love my gretsch 6120. Why not build in Canada? Hell with the cost!

79

Ah, we're in no Rush!

– Vince_Ray

Yes, Vince.

A Triumph!

A little surprised it doesn't come with T'Armonds, just the regular Dynas.

– Gretschadelphia

So that means that the George Harrison Signature Model comes with Seymour Duncan Dynasonics but the Cliff Gallup model is just Gretsch Dynasonics?

No, only the Custom Shop limited edition GH comes with Duncans. The regular pro-line model features the Gretsch Dynasonics.

Read a comment from Tjarko Jeen on fb. It don't seem to have correct neckprofile for a 54/55 duo jet.

I wonder how this guitar is selling so far?

I've been immersing myself listening to Cliff Gallup since the NAMM show with Jeff Beck, Darrel Higham, Duane Eddy and Cousin Harley. Last night I played along for the first time to see if I could pick up anything and Cliff's playing blew my mind open on a whole other level. I feel like I now truly realize the genius of Cliff's playing. He was playing counter melodies to Gene Vincent's vocals and scatting with his guitar through whole songs and every note is brilliant. I'm not sure why I waited this long to really listen to these Gene Vincent tracks but this discovery is exciting.

Listening is one thing but to try to analyze what he was doing convinced me that his signature model Duo Jet was a long time coming. Cliff said that his favorite players were Chet Atkins and Les Paul. When you put those two players together it really makes sense that he would choose to play a Duo Jet.

GasMoney knows all that stuff backwards and forwards...

I had a cliff problem for many years. Not as bad nowadays.

Never got away from that.

Happily still trying to master the old bird.
