How do you think upper fret accessibility on single cut gretsch compare to say lespauls?? I used to play an SG so there's a huge difference there haha....

I have a Les Paul and now a Gold Sparkle Jet too. Not a lot in it really - possibly it's a little easier to reach the high frets on the Gretsch because there seems to be more room in the cutaway- or it may just be because the neck feels nicer. I NEVER thought I'd say this but the Les Paul neck actually feels a little TOO thin after playing my Gretsch ;-)

Do you mean solidbodies?
Cause hollow bodies are a different story... Accessibility is a hampered by the thickness by the body. Where you can sometimes play with your thumb "behind the body", just as if you would play with your thumb behind the neck, this becomes very difficult with a hollow body. The thumb moves to the front most of the time.
A big difference in playability is the neck joint. Hollows have the neck joint at the 14th fret. Where a Jet joins neck and body at the 16th fret, leaving just a bit more room for the basic pentatonic scheme in E...
