ok so i did my bigsby install and it looks wrong to me :(

  1. here are some pics

  2. 2nd photo

  3. 3rd

  4. 4

  5. It looks just fine to me. Where do you feel you have a problem?

  6. Stephen , there a sand casting , i had the same issue ,, so a did a bend here , a tweek there , got it all straight and pretty

  7. its seems that the arm side is higher and it also looks like the tail piece is at an angle down ward

  8. ok thanks Anne thats what im going to try losen it and move it a bit and pack the other side (as the earth wire is on one side also)

  9. i did some major bending to make it perfect Stephen

  10. but i am insane when it come to things being so so

  11. i think i am a bit insane when it comes to this it at least needs packing on the low E side as the bar is at an angle on the high e side its got a earth lead running under it. sigh going to leave it and thiink about it for a while before i do anything on it.

  12. Nevermind that, does it play well, perform properly and hold tune? If so, theres nothing wrong

  13. Stephen, in the second picture is the bridge in the right postion? It might be the camera angle but the strings look slightly off in relation to the pole pieces. But like Tim says if it works then its cool.

  14. yeah i have yet to finish setting it up.

  15. The tension of the strings regardless how flush and level the hinge is fitted, will pull the unit untrue, I ended up putting a small screw through the spring reatainer cup to hold it in the correct position but it's a well worn guitar so thats probably not wise on a falcon! Are all the felt pads there? I also splay the earth so it is more evenly placed at the hinge.

  16. Are both sides of the front side of the Bigsby (were the pieces of felt are) leaning on the top of the guitar when there is no tension on it? They should be. And that is adjusted by the height and the angle of the hinge.

  17. looks o.k. to me... ;-)

  18. The picture that shows the bracket doesn't look level. It's impossible to make everything square so see if you can loosen the screws and make it as level as you can but before you tighten the screw shim the low E side of the bracket and it'll all be good.

  19. The strings don't pull evenly so the shim compensates for that.

Really bad low light iphone photo.

  20. Thanks everyone, yeah it's not level :( one side of the bracket is higher hen the other. I will try what Curt said and evaluate it after to see if I'm happy I may also put something under non arm side of the tail piece to try and even it.

  21. Stephen,you get my PM?

  22. I see nothing wrong with it.

  23. I did thanks, i think i will deffinately need to put some extra padding on the low E side. I'd probably rather attempt a re-drill (pack the holes with wood and glue) of the holes over makeing the holes in the bigsby a little bigger but thanks gives food for thought and may consider it.

  24. Ok,cool...I was just giving another way other than drilling more holes. As bad as I wanted to put a Bigsby on my Penguin I cringed at just drilling the 4 :)

  25. just needs a shim.. had to do that to my jet.. made everything work
