Do you have an electrified fence, steel bars on the windows and guard dogs or are they stored in a safe room?

Just Dropped In (10ahcn), your '60s Fandel fascinates me. I have never seen one or heard one (that I'm aware of). As a general rule, pointy guitars don't do it for me, but I really like that one!
It appears that the pickups are single coils and laid out in an approximate Mustang/DuoSonic layout. Is the sound similar to those guitars?
Tell me about the vibrato. It is very cool looking. Is it similar to a Jazzmaster/Jaguar vibrato?

Bear: The Fandel was a pawn shop find about 7 years ago. Holds the record for the fastest guitar I ever bought, took about 2 seconds upon laying eyes on it to offer the shop owner a hundred bucks, and one second of that was getting the money out of my pocket. It was basically brand new, with just some mild shop wear, had original strings and mint strap and case. I named it "Wild Thing"!
I've not been able to find out anything about it other than some guy from the northeast may have contracted the line from a Japan builder. The trem unit appears to be the same used by Aria years ago (thanks Zak!), perhaps dating the guitar from the late '60s.
The pickups are wax potted and have copper plates on the bottom and measure 5000 ohms each. I've never played a Mustang/DuoSonic to compare it with, but it sounds/plays bitchin'. Here's a few more pics (the back pic has some glare):

That is awesomely cool. Does it play and sound as good as it looks?

Yeah it plays great, has a really nice neck and frets. It's well built. The p/ups kick ass. Kinda like Link Wray was melted down and poured in the coils! One of those pics has the trem cover, usually keep it off as it gets in the way of palm muting the bridge.

If you ever decide to part with it, please give me a shout.
P.S. Thanks for the flashback your avatar caused. For a few minutes it was 1968 all over again for me.

Not quite as elaborate collection as some. But here are my current children. A 1952 Empiphone Emperor Zephyer Regent Vari-Tone.
And a 1955 Epiphone Deluxe Zephyer Regent
No Gretsch's in the stable right now. Waiting for the right one to come my away again. Of course it would have to be Lefty as these are.
After all, it just takes patience (and money too).
