Hello/ Hallo Wim/ Clown snorre,

A fellow dutchman here!

I'm one of the people guilty of making the jokes about your name. I must admit it was an easy one after Dr Nyl mentioned what it means. I had no idea where it really came from and am sorry if I have offended you. It was all in good humour and we can get carried away sometimes on this site.

Hope you will stay as a fellow gretsch lover and a contributor. No more clown jokes from me, although I do too appreciate a good sence of humour.

Several of us will be meeting at the straycats concert in september in the HMH. So you are welcome to join.

BTW: the posting buttom is not working right now, you can do it by posting on one of those picture sites or just put a link up to your website. It actually is on here already and I saw your guitars. nice collection!

I'm glad that I posted my reaction and I'm happy with all your comments! By the way I go "incognito" just as myself and not as a clown to the Stray Cats. :0) I heard now that they are also playing a week earlier in Paradiso/Amsterdam. Maybe I'm trying to get tickets for that also because I love the "small"atmosphere of Paradiso.

yeah paradiso is a much better place to see them. Saw them there a few years ago too. Hope I can get a ticket for that too.

Nice to have you with us SNØRRE. I really appreciate anyone that entertains children and does a good job of it. The kids in that video seem to be having the time of their lives.

I second or third that, nice to have you here SNØRRE. I wasn't saying you should be jailed I just meant if your name means something bad like I thought it did based on other post then throw the clown in jail. Sorry buddy. I misunderstood the meaning. Just like the Chevy Nova back in the '70s had to be named something else for the Latin American market because in those countries Nova I think meant No Go. Can't have a car that is called "no go". Something got lost in the translation. Also SavOn Drug store back in the '80s I think it was changed to Osco then they discovered it was something profane in Spanish and changed it back to SavOn. Actually not profane but means "gagging" or something like that in Spanish that. Something got lost in the translation. But you are clean as a whistle and doing kids a great service. You are introducing them to the world of Gretsch. I still think that Gretsch should put on on the list of notable Gretsch players.

I would loved to be mentioned in the list of Gretsch Players. On my cd I'm on the front with the White Falcon and the print on the cd itself contains the picture when I'm laying between my Gretsches. I'm happy that all the misundertandings are solved now and the tone of the posts have changed in a positive way. You absolutely don't have to like clowns. I also don't like certain clowns but I'm trying to do it in my own way and the children are the best jury. If they don't like it they turn away. Here it is night now so I'm going to sleep, goodbye and till .....

ClownSNORRE, who is your clown influence? Is it Bozo the Clown, Clarabell the Clown, Krusty the Clown or who? I would think that someone who is a famous clown may have influenced you to be a clown? I see Brian Setzer influenced you to play Gretsch.

Clowns are great.

We're all clowns in some way, internal or external – misfits, out of sync, foolish, a little grotesque. Children know it.

People who choose to dress up and put on the face are wearing our sense of weirdness for us, and saying it's alright.

My greatest clown influence was Flippo (I'm sure he's Googlable), the local TV clown in central Ohio. I loved that guy.

Good morning again,

So ugly the creepy clownso I thouhgt I must do something about that. I found out the url function works to insert an image so here it is. This picture I used on my CD.

The next picture is from a performance at a school this year.

By the way even my wife doesn't like clowns but happily enough she likes me a lot :0)

I love the picture with all the guitars. The great thing about it is the fact that these Gretsches make for great clown props because of the colors. You must be good at what you do, the kids in the pictures seem pretty involved in watching the show.

Me, I'm just some clown that plays guitar for the heck of it.

But I think u are a pretty cool clown, from what I have seen. Definately not scary. And why should a clown not play great guitars? You have all the right to.

I am from the Netherlands too btw.

Hey Wim, welcome to the GDP. We have all been referred to as "clowns" but it is nice to have an actual "clown" among us.

Very nice group of Gretsch guitars. Love the photos of them as well...very colorful!
