Jan 22, 2008 7:24 p.m. WyattNight:
I am. I thought about it and I am going to just save the money for next year since it will be 2009. I'm going to sell my R9 for the same reason. 2009 is the 50th anniversary for a lot of things, so I know I'm going to need A LOT of money. I also have an extensive shoe collection which is worth at least $2,500, so I'm going to try and sell that as well. If anyone wants to buy some ridiculously expensive Nikes, Air Jordans, Bapestas, et cetera, just comment here. I bought all of the shoes as an investment. One particular pair was $70 when I got it and is now worth $850.
I live about twelve miles outside of Manhattan and I used to frequent this store all of the time.

Yeah, you are lucky. You seem so loaded that a 59' Setzer Relic would suit you perfeclty. Are you related to Hillary Clinton?
Good luck selling your Tiger Woods shoes...

Glad to hear it gearls, hope it works out for you.
Goes to show you Wyatt that being a jerk in public - no matter if you're a scam or not - isn't always the best course of action.

Maybe you could give greater detail of the "scaminess" of the whole thing for us cgearls. I think many of us on here would love to hear the specifics. I'm not trying to defend WyattNight but I think it would only be fair of you to state your claim.

[cgearls:] >>> If it's too good to be true, it usually is.
Well cgearls if you are on this forum, what exactly about this struck you as "too good to be true"?
"Too stupid for words" would have been my summary of the concept of buying this guitar considering the known-moronic aspects of the whole situation on the seller end.
The details of your woe may be actual, or another part of this cloud of dopey that has been hanging around for a few days.
But how the details would be fascinating is beyond me. The whole thing was a stinker from the get go as a proposition from the seller.
But I do need some new sneakers; maybe I can find the absolute nadir of possible ways to act on this need for sneakers,...

No, not really.
Who wants to buy used shoes? Seriously?
I recommend trying to unload those things on craigslist, and maybe with some odor eaters, even if the shoes were never worn.

Would love to know what cgearls had to say (in his one and only post on this board on the very day (today) that he registered) but the post has been deleted. Alter ego for wyatt? Don't know, but do know that it's hard to imagine this particular member (wyatt) ever really getting in the spirit of how things typically go around here. Too bad, because we really do welcome anyone who does indeed understand what we're up to.

Ok, we spent I don't know how many pages discussing this guy's White Falcon and whether he should keep it, many of us oldtimers offering fatherly advice. Before his first post none of us had heard of "WyattNight". But it's the mid winter doldrums and the Hollywood writers have been on strike for ages so I guess we didn't have anything better to do.
Then along comes "cgearls" , another cat we've never heard of, to say that he got ripped off by "WyattNight".
I believe it was in Star Trek that there was a prime directive not to interfere in alien cultures and that's how I size up this situation. So I'm done, you two fight it out, but don't expect the Federation to intervene.
Then there was that weird shoe collection interlude.....

I deleted my post because it wasn't accurate. I overracted because someone from this forum sent me an ebay message telling me this person was a scammer. I then took steps to close down the transaction. This has been a huge mess and my fault for not giving Wyatt the benefit of the doubt. We're working toward getting this resolved.

Thanks for your honesty Chris.
All I know is what I've read in this and the other White Falcon thread and while I agree that Wyatt could have been a bit more tactful I still believe in giving others the benefit of the doubt. There's a reason that ambassadors are rarely appointed at 16 years of age.
Since the beginning of this little saga I've felt that it was a tempest in a teapot, still do.
