What do you guys think of these guitars? I think the gold on gold is too much, nickel hardware would have worked better but just curious what you thought of this guitar. I remember just a few years ago on Ebay these were going for cheap, like $1,350 or something. Like a lot of people were unloading them and there were not a lot of buyers so the price was not that much but now they cost a lot.
Any of you try one or at least like the way this one looks?
Any 6120 with DynaSonics is a killer guitar!
I think the gold top over a brown back & rims would be drop dead gorgeous. Somewhere Proteus posted photos of his gold 6120 and it's beautiful. If you could get a Keith Scott in good condition for $1350 it would be like stealing

I actually found one and was tempted.... about 9 - 10 years ago. It is a BEAUTIFUL guitar, although I felt it would have looked better with a darker stain (i.e., ebony) on the sides and back. A very, very nice guitar. But -- a bit of a curiosity. It is still in the 2008 listings, but good luck finding one.
Interestingly enough, I've seen Keith Scott a couple of times live (with B. Adams) but have not seen him play this model. In fact, the last time I saw him he was playing a Gibson LP!!!
At the time, I liked it but ended up buying a 6122 (Country Classic).
Yes those are nice looking guitars. About 1999 or so one of the British guitar rags that comes with CD had done a shootout between the Scott and the Gibson ES-295. I wish I could find that mag and CD it's around here some where. If I recall the author of the article preferred the Scott over the ES-295. I saw one at Guitar Center back in 2000 or so and it was a beauty.
Yeah that guitar in the Guitarist mag artical was a prototype ,it was all gold.
I think Peach Idea had it for sale a few years ago.
I would like to have one of the Keith Scott models. Cosmetics aside, it just seems identical to the 6120 DSV from where I'm sitting.
They seem to spec out as close as who cares – both Dynasonic 6120s – but there are subtle differences.
DSV - 16 x 2.75", 24.6" scale, rosewood board, brass nut, Rocking Bar bridge
KS - 16 x 2.8", 24.5" scale, ebony board, bone nut, Space Control bridge
What sonic difference any of that adds up to I don't know.
Thats pretty darn close. Pull the space control off the Keith Scott and install a bar bridge and I'd be set. Although, I do like the brass nut on the DSV too.
1350...Really? That would be a good deal. Bar bridges are inexpensive. Brass nuts too. Hmm...I'm going hunting as soon as I find some spare change around the house.
Bryan Adams is live on the CBS Early Show today. Keith Scott is playing what looks suspiciously like a Fender Stratocaster. And it's black -- not even gold topped with walnut stained sides and back.
I saw Keith on Canadian Idol last week and he was wielding a black Strat as well. Bryan had a nice Es-295 though.
I was watching that Keith Scott guitar on eBay...the auction ended in the middle of the day, which can be advantageous for a buyer. The guitar sold for $1,551.00, if I recall. Still, that's a great price and I wish I would have been able to bid on it...I just assumed it would go to around $1,950 at the very end, but it didn't.
