Way cool Joe
...appreciate the effort you put into getting all the pictures online...and getting to meet Maria Elena; don't imagine you'll forget that too soon.
...and the beat goes on...

Hi!Joe,
thanks for sharing! Oh! I always regret living in Europe and not beeing in the USA, when I see those vintage guitars at affordable prices.
Greetings!

Joe,
Thanks for Helping us experience the show, vicariously, through your great pictures. The next best thing to being there! That amp would go great with the Penguin trimmed Billy-Bo, too.

Joe,
Is there anything in the pipeline to bring the Gretsch bandwagon to the UK and mainland Europe?

Interesting 1962 6120 with tags. I wonder if the gold Bigsby is a factory original?

Great coverage Joe. I just got home, but believe me, I wanted to be in Dallas at the guitar show. After seeing all the pictures you posted, I am just sick. I see my friend from Ardmore, Don Smith, stopped by. Cool. Also another friend from Marietta, OK, Bill Baker, told me he stopped by and introduced himself to you.
And getting a hug from Maria Holly. Now that is just outta sight. I also heard that my buddy, Doyle Dykes with his bass pickin' pal, Dave Pomeroy were pretty much show stoppers.
Wish I could have been there. Thanks for all the nice coverage Joe.

Thanks for the great coverage, Joe. Your enthusiasm for all things Gretsch is really contagious.
Love the new 125th Anniversary amp. Can't wait to hear more of the details about it.

Mitch said: joe, did you bust out the credit card for anything you saw at the show?
There were so many amazing, jaw dropping guitars that I kept telling myself that I better keep looking around because no sooner did you fall in love with one, all you had to do was turn your head and in your sight was ANOTHER amazing guitar. Sort of like being at a barn dance where there were so many pretty girls you couldn't make up your mind who to ask to slow dance with.Did I bust out my credit card? Well... I went to the dance and ended up NOT slow dancing with anyone. However, I DID do the "Twist" with many fine ladies. Had a blast! Just didn't bring one home.

You are a model of self restraint Joe.
Besides that, if you're anything like me there's no place to store another guitar.

Drew, Thanks for the question. Thought the best way to answer it was to show you a picture of the 1962 Gretsch 6120 with all its goodies. The fellow I bought this guitar from placed an order for a single cut 6120, but received one of the first double cuts. You can see the catalog he was using for his order. The whole package makes this a wonderful set. And yes the gold Bigsby is original. I have also had a gold Bigsby on a 1959 model 6120. Let me know if you'd like to see other pictures of any of the guitars I had at the Dallas show. Have a great evening............Bob

Hey y'all, If I've been successful, attached are a couple of close ups of the case goodies for the '62, 6120. The Electrotone Guitar Body tag was only issued in 1962 when then the "new" body style was released!! The foil tag shows the retail price of $495 for the Model 6120 in 1962!! Let me know if you'd like close up's of anything of the other items........Bob

Dear Jason Herndon. I've been playing guitar for 43 year (this coming June 25th), and my very first pro guitar was a 67 Tennessean I still have. AMAZINGLY, no one has snatched me up for an endorsement yet. Just thought you'd want to know.
But seriously- great photos, great reporting, great stories. You made my week. Thank you, Joe.

Probably a foul-up at the Post Office.
