I have an original 1963 6117 with Hi-LoTrons & Bigsby. The pups have gone dead on me twice. So I'm replacing them with TVJ-HT.
And nope, they won't take a Filtertron pup unless you route out the body of the guitar. I was thinking about that myself, but Mandolin Bros advised me against it, when valuing my original @ $4,000!
So next year I'll get a 5120 in sunburst to match my 6117, and have Dynasonics put it, and special pickguard etc from Paul Setzer (who's making one for the 5122. I'm getting), and thereby making it a copy of the more uncommon '57 6120.
Maybe later an acoustic, but more likely an orange 5120 to put to the filtertron test! Or a DuoJet (Harrison specs).
Enjoy your Annie, they're a blast! And for sure, it won't be your last. That sound is addictive. You should be in my shoes (drummer as well, craving a new Gretsch set even though I've got 30yo Ludwigs (I've had since new, and a 57yo wood Slingerland snare).
