Hi GP-Folks, I've been reading the posts lately and you people have a nice forum going here. I learned a lot about Gretsch guitars just by reading up on this forum in between office hours. I owned quiet a few guitars over the years and finaly bought my first Gretsch 2 years ago (a smoke green Annie/Jr) and was very happy with it. I suppose I chose the Junior size because I wasn't used to the larger Gretsch bodies (up to then I was mostly an LP player). Then after seeing mister Young playing his Falcon during his Continental Tour in Europe last february I decided to sell the JR and go for a WF. I was able to buy a Stills Signature for a fair price on the bay. It arrived a month ago and this guitar really feels, plays and sounds great. I've noticed that it made me play better from the moment I got my hands on it. OK, the gold and glitter are a 'bit' over the top but I am getting used to it. For practicing I just play acoustic (which sounds pretty good for a hollowbody) and when I want to make some noise I use my old small 70's Italian EKO amp (30 watts). It's the only one I haven't sold over the years. The combination of the Filter'Tron's and the EKO give a very raunchy but clean enough sound. I will probably be on the look out for another amp in the near future but in the meantime I am 'yet another' very happy Gretsch player. Grtz from Belgium!
'Yet another' very happy Gretsch player!

Welcome erick. I have always wanted to try one of the JR models. To me they seem like a good trade off between the size of a solid body and the sound of a hollowbody.

Thanks folks! antik: if you come accros a JR you should definetly try it. It is a real featherweight guitar that can rock your socks off. Too bad I had to sell it but I always try to play new guitars without spending too much 'EUROS'. And for now I am playing my Falcon every day.
