Well, we haven't gotten any sleep here tonight because of the pungent odor emanating from my poor dog's face ... after his close encounter with the skunk ... we washed him with a mixture of vinegar, baking soda and dish washing detergent ...

He still smells like hell ... and I thought that the tear gas I endured in the early '70s was bad !

I'm now having some coffee and waiting for our local, friendly veterinarian to take over ...

Sorry - I'll get around to posting about the GDP roundup soon ...

I didn't want to seem to denigrate anyone's song suggestion by (in effect) declining to play it! So some programmed sit-outs would be good.
I agree with Paul 100% and the few times I did take a break it felt awkward.

I have to get my 10 year old to do it.

My wife sends her apologies for any camera shake and no long takes on video, but she has a tear in her something or other in her shoulder, and really gave all she could with holding up her arm until she could no longer do so.

57 Chet, Sorry to hear about the skunking of your pooch. It happened to mine a few times when I was a kid. I think the prescription then was a bath tub full of V-8 juice, and hope the dog takes to it. Mine was a thick furred Lab Retriever and it took a lot of work to get that stink out.

Then, the dog smelled like tomatoes and skunk!

Dr. Nyl, Hmmm...the international thing is really appealing to me, but where to have it?

Dublin gets my vote, but your Roundup looked really cool as well.

Jeez, I hadn't been reading the thread and didn't see this! I certainly wanted to go, but ended up taking the road more often travelled and going bowling with Mrs. Catmensch and our kitten-mensch (who bowled her first strike ever. The gloves are off -- I'm not letting her win anymore!) I clearly missed out on a good time, good guys, and not just a few nice guitars. I am pre-planning in my mind to attend next time without any excuses.

It's a ferry ride to Sweet Old Dublin.

London would be cool as I have family there that are actual working musicians (toured with Steve Winwood & Sting, among others)

Hey there! I came into this thread very late, but I only live in Ambler, PA, and could easily make it to another one of the Roundups in the area! I've got a Tenny and and Electromatic Junior Jet that wanna get together with other members of the T Roof Ranch! Well, I also have a couple Strats (have to for my part-time job), but I'd like to give the Gretsches more of a workout!

So, if there's gonna be another one, I'm there!

john nothing real speacial in that case. it is a 63 single cut anniv. the case is actually an old 6120 cowboy case that someone torn off the white tolex and painted black. thank God they did not tear off the leather cowboy stuff. I bought the guitar with the intent to try a gretsch again and the fact that it had the cool case was also a factor I have yet to really bond with the guitar. I have a 53 sparkle jet that is the only bolt on known in existence (long story) but that is in upstate CT getting fixed. I do like that guitar a lot and wished I could have brought it along

Yeah Al,

go to a third party (Flickr, photobucket, etc...) download the pics there, then click the photo icon , paste the url, or link location, into the space shown, click OK, then you're set. You should see the pic.

You got me really interested to see all of your guitars now! Is that bolt on from the factory?

I didn't know Gretsch made Bolt ons.

This is a long story meant for this site!

I'm glad that you enjoyed playing my Orange Jet ... and appreciate your excellent review ... You made it snarl a lot better than I could ... what amp were you playing through (it was a sweet mix of guitar and oomph / I will need to borrow a better amp for our next gig, in order to be heard)

Your guitar playing is way superior, as well!

I'm so glad you brought that, and your 6120 up to New Jersey as I have only seen pictures of vintage guitars as nice as yours and the other ones Sunday. I'm one to get a bit excited about certain weird things, like when I was onstage at the Atlantic City Convention Center, when I realized the Beatles played on that very stage...Goosebumps! Or, when I was in Sigma Sound, in Philly, and the engineer told me that right where I was standing is where Bowie worked on Young Americans. Playing a guitar like yours gives me the same kind of surreal thrill that my wife loves to kid me about. She sees me get a big smile and I can't stop smiling, so she'll say teasingly " OOOoooo does Johnny like the big guitar?"

It's like that.

I think I plugged into Curt's friend's Tiny Terror(Orange), then I think I switched to Roadjunkie's Top Hat. They both sounded great.

Your guitar playing is way superior, as well! You need to see you ear doctor!

Besides, how would you know if it was me?
