It was really nice to meet you guys! It was also a humbling experience for me to hear how well you all played.
I had no idea you were such a nice fella Brent. Loved the vintage Les Paul. What a nice guitar. I like your playing style very much. I was impressed with you as a person and with your playing. You are a class act! I'm beginning to think that people who live in Minnesota are the bees knees.
Mark can do some nice Brian Setzer tunes. Well played man! You didn't hack anything. I didn't hear you miss a lick.
Troy, you are an impressive player. You blew my mind. I couldn't keep up with you if I tried.
Don and Anita- Thanks so much for having us over at your place. I hope we can do this again some time.
I had a good time sitting and watching for the most part. I really enjoyed playing all of the different Gretsch guitars that folks brought. There was a pretty good variety of guitars to tool around on. There were some sweet amps as well. That Vibrolux had great tone Mark. Just looked like a real load to carry that around.
I've started uploading pics already and will post them here as soon as my computer stops smoking and cools down. I wish I had shot some video.
My favorite tunes of the day were the Stray Cats covers that just oozed out of everyones amps. That was some excellent stuff. I hope Troy got some of that on tape. My guess is that he ran out of memory on his recorder before we got that far.
I also learned that it is humanly possible to squeeze elventy billion stomp boxes onto a pedal board. Did anyone take a pick of that rig? It made me dizzy to look at it because I didn't know what all of the little doo hickeys did. Even after hearing them engaged, I still don't know what they do. A fella' could spend hours turning all of those knobs.
