Looks right to me Don.
Want me to see if I can get a friend of mine to come over and play drums for us? He is a very active gigging drummer, but might have a spot in his schedule for a Sunday jam session.

Wow, guys,
Congrats on pulling a jam plan together! You will have a grand time.
I need to get back to Shreveport someday. I graduated from Centenary College, but my last visit was over 20 years ago.
Paul/FF909
Wow 909, small world. Centenary grad huh. Yeah, visit when you can. That wasnt the Robert Parish era was it? Drummer would be nice if he can. I got one of them auto drum machines but like everything else I can't work it good yet. It has trouble keeping time with me !! Don
hey, we are in Louisiana....I got a 5-gallon bucket I can bring for someone to beat on!!
I've got a bucket for sure. Might even have a fancy water bottle off the top of one of those fancy water dispensers. They sound really good when you start abeatin' and abusin' them. I even have a #5 washtub. I have a couple of drum stands too. Now where did I leave that duct tape to put it all together?
I am thinking about making this trip...work and family stuff always interfering!
Not too bad of a shot from Dallas and it sounds like fun...if you've got a kit i could fill in on drums too...

yeah, if I remember, it's only 4-5 hours ? that's not too bad of a trip. come on !
Shreveport is a 3.5 hour hop from Dallas. We are over in Dallas all the time on day trips.

yep, you're right. coming from Ruston, it took longer.
Speaking of trips, anyone passing through Baton Rouge on their way up to Shreveport??
If so, maybe we could share a ride?
I'm pretty sure I've got a drummer lined up at this point. He says that he has a gig on Friday and Saturday night, but would have fun playing with different people instead of the same old crowd.
@ otterbean
hey Curtis, what time have you decided to start this "Louisiana Gretsch Gathering" ? just curious.
brent
Yep...that'd be important to know!
I'll chat with Don tomorrow and see what he has to say about that. You guys want to chime in and give some suggestions on start time. Sroux has a pretty long haul on the return trip home. Troy's gonna put in more than a couple of hours driving as well. What's convenient for you all? I live less than 10 minutes from where we are jamming. Its no sweat for me, I'll be there early and leave late no matter when we start or finish. The drummer is showing up around noon to 1 since his gig ends around 2am.
I'm good for whenever...probably an hour and a half drive for me, so no big deal on time.
Do we have a bass for sure covered? I could bring my Spector if need be...but just have a practice amp to play it thru.
Also, what about food/drink? No need for one or two guys to carry the load here....let me know what I can pick up!
Yeah....let us know about food and drink. I'll bring something as well. Also, I can bring my G&L bass, but I currently don't have an amp.
How does 1:00 sound to you guys for a kick off time? Nothing set in stone yet. I figured that would give folks travelling time to arrive and choose a decent departure time on their own.
Food and drinks should be no problem. There is a Super Wally World right up the road from Don's place. Less than a 5 minute drive. If folks want to contribute to a food fund, I think that would be fine.
Cool....it's about a 4 hour drive for me, so that's fine for me!
I'll kick in some dough towards food and drink.
Oh btw...what are you guys bringing equipment wise?? Obviously your Gretsches, but are you brinking any other cool items??
I'll have my 6120-60 with TV Classics (and a Plus in the bridge) in tow.
Otterbean, I'll put towards the food fund. Gotta love the Wally Worlds..
I was bringing the 6120 Golden Annie of course, and was also planning on bringing my amp, a Fender Custom Vibrolux Reverb. I'll also bring a few stompers...Ibanez AD-9, Boss OD-3, and maybe my Bad Bob boost...I will bring my Spector bass if need be (need to know on that today or tomorrow, as it will need a string change in the worst way). I have a small bass practice amp I can bring if need be. Let me know on the bass stuff or whatever else we may need.
Hey St.John...I can bring my G&L bass. Just changed strings. I don't have a bass amp currently, so if you bring that, we'd be golden.
Probably bring my pedal board along. Got a couple of nice pedals the gang might want to check out. Bringing my Reverend Kingsnake amp, and might bring my Reverend CK-290 or my Tele.
I think there is a bass amp on site already. Pretty sure there is a bass as well. No need for you guys to bring extra luggage along.
Looks like the menu has changed to Mrs. Wood's jambalaya. I'll bring along some soft drinks and Don already has bottled water and some cold brews for anyone that enjoys the libations. I'm going to have my wife throw something together in the kitchen as well.
Reports are that the jam has been moved indoors. No need to fight the heat.
OOoooh.....Jambalaya! Now you're speaking my language!
Cool on the bass. That'll less stuff to pack.
1:00 pm sounds good to me. as far as equipment, I'm gonna have a full car. so my Les Paul is all I'll have room to bring. I think Don said he had a amp that I could use. this is gonna be F U N ! ! !

Ah Brent- I wanted to try out you vintage Gretsch. I've never played one of the older ones.
otterbean said: I wanted to try out your vintage Gretsch
Curtis, I wish I had the room. I guess you could say that my LP is vintage. it's a '73 LP Deluxe. and according to Rob Campbell(tartan phantom), it has the same pick ups that the old Gibson Firebirds had. minihumbuckers.
