Very nice, Curt!

Wait 'till you see Redrocker's video, that's going to be cool!

Paul just killed it. Beautiful playing. The whole experience was great. I never knew how much history there was in my own back yard.

Really nice shots, Curt. I especially dig how in addition to the events and locales and Fred's photos, you also got the local color -- signage, graffiti, kids, funky buildings. True Brooklyn character.
I'm hoping to post a link to some video tomorrow.

Nice shots, Curt. I really wish I had been there and man I miss New York.

Cousin Harley should move to Europe. I'm going cold turkey here.
Seems it was a real nice meeting. Wish I'd been there.

Cousin Harley should move to southeastern USofA.... where rockabilly was born...by gawd!

Curt, these photos really capture the day well.
I had a blast, Royalty and serfs hanging out together in NYC.
Some amazing old guitars showed up unexpectedly (I have a feeling Curt will see one of them soon).Always great to see the GDPers. Besides Curt, RedRocker and Proteus worked their asses off recording this event.
Thanks Fred G., Joe C., Paul P., Kim F, Rocky S. (and family) and the rest of you guys.
Just REAL cool people.

Geoff Vane
Nope Dusty, we want them. I'll ask the European Union if they can buy the Cousins.

As a father I have spent some time looking at my kids lives through a video viewfinder and I have to mention that the video Paul is processing, which will no doubt be epic, didn't allow him to take part in any of the fun. There's something unique to this site, Gretsch and everyone involved that really is family, a family that I for one am proud to be associated with. I've never seen so much giving, cooperation and goodwill ever before and I have to say thank you to everyone on the GDP.
-
Proteus
Curt, great shots. Your efficiency is amazing! I just finished editing, and no time to post before heading off with Fred to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for a guitar display...
And Redrocker's video, no kidding. The tour was amazing, and ended incredibly with the kind of the thing that could only happen to the GDP.
Wish I had time to tell it now...

Thank you, Curt, and everybody else who documented this event. I'm so sorry I missed it but this gives us all a lot. Gretsch is such a great brand-- such a combination of history, continuity, really cool people, and of course a legacy of the best guitars.
We need to convince Stephen Stern to move the custom shop from Corona to one of those Brooklyn buildings. Wouldn't that be cool! (And wouldn't that sell some guitars...)
Happy Father's Day all.

I'm watching all the movies as we speak. I feel like being there. Who's gonna win those guitars? I don't know yet!

crowbone
Sorry I missed it. Looks like it was a blast.

It was a blast. A co-mingling of parallel worlds...
I think that was Rocky's first major dose of the GDP community, and he seemed impressed.
For many of us, it was our first experience in Rocky's shop. I know I was impressed.
Rocky and his family are incredibly nice people. I felt at home, despite being in a small-ish shop with between 75 and 100 other people.
Rocky's daughter's band was a surprising delight. Very tight and dynamic, and they're just kids (we may need to set up a battle of the bands between them and BillyDLight's boys someday).
Paul Pigat is so far above first rate that we need to create a new number in order to rate him fairly. His 5-minute Travis-picking lesson was a stunner.
And then, there were Joe, Fred, and Kim with the magic they always bring.
It was a full day... and I had to leave before the walking tour!

These pics are a nice recap to that incredible video stream yesterday. I was tellin my boy as we watched just how historically important that was as it relates to both gretsch fans and a past american industry. I was "glued to the set" as we old school television viewers use to say. I now need my Gretsch reality tv fix and it needs all you guys rushing into buildings and finding secret gretsch fans. Really appreciate the picts and video of the event. -mr photo fetish
btw.. is that an actual "banksy" artwork on the roof of that building?

Agreed. Pack your bags, Paul.

Ain't gonna happen Paps. Europe needs cool stars too; you've got many already. Besides, we've got more kinds of beer plus stroopwafels; all natural Cousin food.
