Yeah Nobody, that'd be pretty cool. The countryside up there was absolutely beautiful. Check out the album I posted, with the full set of pics here. I didn't get a whole lot of the countryside per se, but a few dilapidated barn pics.

I must say, it was a privilege to meet, hang out and play with the GDP posse, along with the various friends and relations who accompanied them. Y'all are a great bunch of folks, and for those who weren't there to hear, we played some pretty rockin' stuff!
Surf medleys, Buddy Holly, Duane, a touch of jazz, R&B, rockabilly, even acid jams were all represented. Some more pics:

Joe C. making Real Guitar Sounds on a Way Out West Americana
(By the by, not only is Joe a "bidness-man" par excellance --- and a great guy to talk to, homeboy can PLAY! Besides some very tasty guitar playing, Joe showed his stuff on bass, drums, and percussion during the festivities, and was no slouch on any of them.)

The great pictures you guys have posted pretty much tell the tale of the great time we had at Parabar's ranch over the weekend. Ray and I were impressed by every one of you; and Joe is certainly the coolest and definitely the "Plato" of Gretsch guitars.
Thanks again everyone. We loved all of your playing and your beautiful instruments. We hope to meet again soon. -

That Country Club is beautiful! Having been a fortunate "pick lottery" winner at the Nashville roundup, I can identify with Sissiekidd's excitement.
It's still amazing to me how much goodwill Gretsch spreads among the guitar community. Gretsch & FMIC have the perfect "Ambassador of Gretsch" in Mr. Carducci. The man loves his job, knows and believes in his products, and is so enthusiastic about spreading the Gretsch Gospel. As a matter of fact, for anyone who has met him, they can attest that Joe's enthusiam is infectious!

That is just all to great and yet all so...........ummm! Deja vu! looks like everyone had a blast and what a cool setting to have that in! Beautiful countryside!
I know Joe works hard! A great Gretsch ambassador! He just has too much fun at work though! I need a job where I can have that much fun!
Just a passing thought! A long ways off but as great as these regionals are..........national? maybe meet in the middle? Like I said a long way off but before Dec. 21 2012! That's the end of the Mayan calendar.

I'm not sure if anyone got pictures of it, but one of the unique parts of the weekend was Joe's slideshow Saturday night on the history of the Gretsch company and a tour of the Terada factory, along with some of his "war stories" from his many years with FMIC in a number of capacities. It was a balmy evening, so we hung a sheet on the side of the house and all sat under the stars watching the slides, along with videos of Chet Atkins from a 1955 TV broadcast, the Beatles' first appearance on Ed Sullivan, and the Stray Cats doing "Rock This Town" from one of their recent reunion shows. Kinda like an old-time Saturday night at the drive-in for Gretschaholics.
In this time of economic uncertainty, when so many businesses are doing any and everything to cut corners, it's refreshing to see the commitment Joe and the Gretsch division of FMIC have to "doing it right," and the success they've had in recent years should be an example to other firms that it's possible to be both principled AND profitable. Well-deserved thanks and kudos from all us guitar nerds ... er, aficionados!

Amen to that Parabar,
I got to witness Joe in action in Nashville and I can honestly say that this is a man that Loves his work, and I hope that the efforts he puts out is reflected in sales for Gretsch, either by us purchasing Gretsch products, or spreading the word about how fine these things are, and having jams where not only the experienced and new to Gretsch come, but also the curious, and "on the fencers" have their minds made up by the great people that come to these things and the Awesome noise we make. I'd call it music, but some of you have heard me play!
Three Cheers for Joe!
Don't mind my rambling...I'm in Philly and we're about to win a world series...(me hopes!)
Hey Bonedaddy, Tell me those collapsed barns were from your collective wall of sound knocking them over, right?

Oh yeah! It was the collective jam over Black Magic Woman and Oye Como Va that did it, I think. -

I had the privilege of joining afm_380 for the 125th Anniversary Gretsch Round-Up in the beautiful setting of northern California’s wine country. As if that wasn’t enough, we had the privilege of meeting and playing with some uniquely talented and very personable musicians. This is one of those weekends to be remembered for sure! The “History Lesson 101” was so fascinating that everyone was hanging on Mr. Joe Carducci’s every word. It’s truly amazing to meet someone who is completely dedicated to the array of musicians, the quality of Gretsch and shares his enthusiasm so infectiously. For those who weren’t able to join the round up, just know that you were there in spirit as we all thought of you!
Pinch. OUCH! Pinch, OUCH! Yep it must be real!
I keep expecting to wake up from the dream, the one where my favorite “Picnic” (as my granddaughter calls them) falls out of “THE” guitar. Not only was I honored with a beautiful Cadillac Green Country Club, but my lucky “Picnic” had the honor of being stepped on by Mr. Joe Carducci himself!
Talk about making a girl speechless… he sure knows just how to do it! To say “Thank You” doesn’t even come close to what’s in my heart but … Thank You. I look forward to playing with you all again at future gatherings. Thanks again Parabar for making us all welcome in your studio!
