That's right, Fred and his band, Gas Money will be playing Saturday with my band, Gubmn't Cheese at the Barrington Coffee House, 131 Clements Bridge Road Barrington, NJ 08007 (856) 573-7800
Fred's going to be gigging with the prototype '54 6120 and we'll have some other neat Gretsches out there. too.
Gas Money is a great Honky Tonk band and I'm really looking forward to finally gigging with Mr Stucky!
This should be a blast.

I'm bummed(sort of) that Billy D Light's got a gig the same night. He was going to come out and jam a bit. I'll be using the Excelsior! Fred's bringing his Cowboy amp! Both single 15 inch speakers.

Hope they have a tall ceiling. Crowbone gets a little carried away.

Really looking forward to this show. I will be going into unknown territory guitar wise.. I normally play through a fender tweed and filtertron 6120. This sat night I will be playing through that 56' Gretsch western amp and playing the 54' 6120 (with DeArmonds).
So should be a twangful evening to at the least. Wish a lot more GDP folk could come visit.

Damn, and I was in that town 2 weeks ago. I would be great to meet all of you. I came up for my high school reunion and sat in with some friends at the Tap Room & Grille in Haddon Heights, then went to a great boutique music store in Lindenwald called the "Pick of the Ricks", and ate so many soft pretzels it was great! Have a great show ... Fred will kick ass, fer sure!

I'll be in North Jersey in the day and probably won't be there. Pics and vids please. Have a great time.

What time is the show? I'm taking my son to a show at the TLA Saturday night, but maybe we can stop by.

The Tap Room is right around the corner from me....literally, just a few blocks!
Who'd you play with? I know a bunch of the bands that play there.

I grew up in NE Philly but lived for a couple years in Stratford in the 70's and befriended the Volpe brothers (Abbey Road and Volpe & Colgate, et al). Steve Volpe & I have remained friends for over 30 years, and he and his current band (The Toonz) and "Volpe & Colgate" still play the Tap Room almost every week, so I came up for my reunion, stayed with Bob Anderson (great acoustic soloist) in Turnersville, met Graham Alexander (plays Paul M in Rain), went to Pick of the Ricks, ate hoagies & cheesesteaks like a madman, bought 50 pretzels at the outlet store on my way to the airport and flew back to south Florida all in one quick weekend. But enough about me, I can't wait to hear about Fred's Stuckey's show! Love his band Gas Money ...

Great show tonight guys!
The house started rockin' just after 8:00 -- Crowbone played with his band Gub'mint Cheese -- sang and rocked out on a variety of guitars, playing through a brand spanking new Fender Excelsior amp that sounded spectacular, especially with his New Jet.
I didn't get any free cheese, but maybe next time. We did drink some beer, though. (No photos -- this is a proper forum after all.)
Then Fred broke out the *'54 Numero Uno and Gas Money kicked it up with some real rockabilly classics and brand new tunes off of their upcoming CD, which altogether seems like a great one judging by the tunes they were testing out tonight. I wish I'd gotten a picture of Fred's cool Gretsch cowboy amp, but I didn't. I did however grab a few shots of that very first 6120 - Fred had it on stage tonight. Yep... that one.
Cool thing happened at one point during the show when something came loose in the old cowboy amp and suddenly we were hearing exactly the tube distortion tone you hear on the Rock 'n' Roll Trio's recordings of "Train Kept A-Rollin'" and "Rock Billy Boogie" -- so Fred played the latter. It was great. In fact, the whole show was great. I was studying guitar licks left and right -- he is an awesome player.

A Thanks to NJ Bob& wife and RedRocker for coming out tonight. It was great seeing you and i know you traveled some distance to get there. Much appreciated.
So, yeah, good gig. Fred's playing was great, as usual, and that '54...wow. Played it after the gig and man, it's like buttah. Really setup nice with a great sound and a beautiful top on it as well.
It turns out the amp he has(I got pics...link below) was one we were in a bidding war in some time ago. It was covered in what looked like contact paper at the time of the auction, but has really cleaned up nicely.
We played with my son, Furie, on drums, and he did a really great job. Even he was pleased, and he's a sharp critic of his own playing(as many of us are).

Great show! John really rocks it! Everything is tight (nice job Furie), while the feeling is loose and fun.
...and the SONGS were just incredible. I mean the lyric, tune and arrangement. I gotta hear more John.
Fred and Gas Money...wow. About as cool as cool gets. Nice mix of twangy songs. Itunes here I come. You've got to see and hear Fred's '54 #1.
Great show!
