As the first flowers begin to bloom in the first sunlight of spring, it's about time to start planning the second European Roundup.
The most important is where and when.
Some places have been mentioned at last year's Roundup: Breda, Amsterdam and Copenhagen if I remember correctly.
So let's start spilling ideas.
You are absolutely right Radrod! I will be real busy as the year progresses, so it will be very difficult for me to plan a roundup in Copenhagen. I'm stil thinking about possibilities, though. I have to admit that you set the bar high with last year's roundup 
I hope someone else will be up for setting up the roundup and also hope to be there.

Last years location was really nice, for me it doesnt matter if we are in or near a big city or in the countryside. And we might eventually place Schraard on the World Map
So if Ratrod can do the magic once again, Danman turns that great Fiat into a Limo again, I get the chance to see and play that mythical 3-pup Astro Jet - thats were my vote goes.
Or do you all wanna come to Stockholm? That could be arranged!

The Fiat is all waxed up and waiting to bring several gretsches and people to some gathering. But I have a feeling Ratrod said that the place we had the round up is closed down????

The bar has been re-opened. I might be able to pull it off again. Another possibility is to have the Roundup at the hotel itself.
the hotel was (is!) nice, that would be a perfect choice!
... and for me it's closer than Stockholm! 
Less logistics would be involved if held at the hotel. I liked the bar though.
For some people Stockholm might be a bit far (not for me ) and thus, as Will implies, less of all the cool equipment. Waddaya have to say for your defence Dr Nyl 
(Stockholm is a darn nice place...)
To my defence I stand without words. Like I said before - Holland is perfect:

Too bad I am preoccupied with my 1 month old daughter. I guess I could arrange something in Budapest as well, with a possible few places we could set up instruments and play, cheap hotels, double bass players, decent selection of amps, the works. Now that the forint is ridiculously low, it would be very cheap as well.
Maybe next year.
Ok, I can't promise anything but one possibility is that I send my parents on a weekend to Amsterdam (to my house) and we use their house in the country in the south of holland. It is reasonably big, out in the middle of nowhere and if people bring sleeping bags etc we can stay there for free...... only have to get some alcohol and food. There is a trainstation in town. Only would have to find a drummer, bassplayer and singer....
Again this is just an idea I had, it is worth a try....
But do keep the idea's coming because I have no idea if it would work.
That is a nice idea from Danman. The only thing missing for me would be a Gretsch then.
Ah I have about 5 of them...... always a few going begging for one evening.
Holland would be doable for me, and then you wouldn't have to find a bass player.
I really like Dan's idea.
It would give us plenty of freedom and very reasonable beer costs.
For food we could order a big load of Chinese.

Sjolte, I just said I could play bass. I didn't say I could play it well.
Hehe, alright. At least we'll get some additional variations on how to play lousy bass. At the last roundup we took turns at playing bass - as I remember it, Dr Nyl did it quite convincingly.
If I can make it to the Roundup, I'll volunteer to play bass...seeing as how I'm a bassist who manages to somehow play guitar, too.
Will an electric suffice, or do you rockabilly cats prefer I lug the doghouse bass with me?
Actually, I like playing bass. People don't run screaming from the room, like they do when I sing.
Still working on it. One problem my parents have with it is that there are three noisy dogs running around there and they might go crazy from all that volume.
I didn't measure the living room but I think it is about 7 x 8 (or 9) m. I hope that is big enough. It can get pretty noisy with 10 guitars in a room like that. I guess it also depends on the amount of people attending. And of course, finding a drumkit with a drummer, mic set up with a singer etc.
How many people would be attending if it was in Holland? (and again, I'm also willing to travel other places.....)
