What gear will you bring to the roundup? Just curious. I'll bring:
Guitars: Gretsch 6128T-TVP Power Jet and probably a Squier Classic Vibe Tele.
Amp: Engl Classic Tube 50 head with 2X12 Bandmaster cab.
FX: Boss RE-20 Space Echo.

If I were going, and I'm not (CRAP) I'd bring my 6131T duo jet firebird, and my HWY1 Fender Telecaster. I'd have to rely on someone else's amp as my ENGL screamer 50 combo is simply too heavy. You get a hernia from just turning the thing on. Although if I were going, and if I could bring it, I'd do so in a heartbeat. I don't think I'd bring any effects although I would take my Z5 footswitch.
IF the carrier allows me to bring the DuoJet in the cabin that will be it, otherwise it might be the PowerProJet or even my Tele. + TubeScreamer & Boss RV-3. On amps im in the good hands of Ratrod & Danman.
I'm not entirely decided yet but I could be bringing:
-1960 6120
-1957 Jet firebird
-1962 White Tolex bassman head and cabs with two 12" celestion vintage 30's (too loud for this?)
-If I get a 1965 deluxe before that I will take that of course
-I guess I'll bring my pedalboard (differs but now two TS-9's, box of rock, diamond fireburst fuzz, carl martin red repeat and the holy grail reverb)
-If my new old 1959 green Annie has had the neck reset I would like to take that but it's not likely.
Any requests?
-1967 ES-330 with P90's
-1955 Les Paul jr with one P90
-±1959 Les Paul jr P90 previously owned by DeeDee Ramone but I need to set it up and it is pretty beat up.
-1971 Telecaster
-Mahogany Tele with P90's that I built myself
Ratrod could you let me know if I would need to take another amp for Dr.Nyl? If I get the deluxe I can take both, if I don't I could try to borrow one. Of course the bassman is powerfull enough to handle two guitars. So that is possible too. I don't think my 1959 tweed champ would give enough power.
i'm open for suggestions too!
i guess the 3 pick-up Astro-Jet has to come. the three new tv-jones supertrons for the Astro have arrived at my local post office. i'll pick the stuff up on saturday, woohoo!
the 'other' guitar (i don't want to bring more ...) could be my 6122-59 or the 6120DSV. i like to keep it in the Gretsch-family! for amps i can bring my ri-bassman (4x10) and i have my ampeg reverberocket ready too. i can supply extra delay/tremelo-pedals if needed!
besides: i want to take some recording-equipment: one or more roland harddisk-recorders, mic pre-amps and enough mic's to make a decent recording.
btw: do we have a bass-player and/or drummer? i can bring my Precesion-bass, or another frettless bass if that's helpfull.
I'm excited all you guys are getting together. I hope there are ample pictures and recordings, and a good report afterward.
I hope will brings his helmetophone from his avatar.
@ Danman: You can bring your Bassman if you want to. Don't worry too much about being too loud. I'd like to compare it to my Engl. I don't know wich amp Dr. Nyl would prefer.
@ Will: Bass guitar is covered. The bass player wil bring his double bass, Jazz Bass and an Ampeg SVT Classic (350 watts of tube power
).
There will also be a drum kit. But I'm still working on a drummer.
Hey Ratrod,
I'll take my Bassman. Good idea to compare, you can even play on it. That Engl sounds great too. I also love those Ampeg bass amps, they are great but a real hassle to take somewhere.
It sounds like there will be alot of cool gear around
I will bring my reissue '58 Gountry Gent. I don't plan on bringing an amp, so I hope I can borrow something from you local guys?
I would prefer a Standel 25L15
Ha ha, well Sjolte, we'll see what we can do.
There will be amps but I'll see if I can take an extra amp. With two people needing them. But actually: Will we all be playing at the same time? Would be fun sometimes but I'm sure we can do some switching.
well, Danman and others,
because i'm not too familiar with most of the songs, i won't play 'all the time'!
i know most of 'm, but i'm not sure i can play them!
but that gives me time to make some foto's, record some songs and be entertained by the playing of others!
then again, i just need an excuse to show-off my Astro!
Proteus said: I hope will brings his helmetophone from his avatar.
... if i can find it in time!
Hi Will,
Don't worry, I don't play most of the songs either. I don't even play all of the ones I posted. But I am going to try to figure them out though. But that doesn't mean I will be able to.
Of course we can also learn from others too.
And it is funny that a gretsch is often a rockabilly thing. I don't play rockabilly, I like it but am not really a rockabilly player.
I will be bringing a camera too, so there will be lots of pics. Great that you are taking recording equipment.
And your Astro remains very welcome.
Yeah Danman, we'll do some some switching. And I guess it looks like there's enough amps with the ones listed above. No problem with that. I'll probably bring a few stomp boxes aswell as my old weird Yamaha analogue delay.
Hmm, or maybe I want two Standel's. One dry and one with echo...
How about a quadra set up with all the amps. Will that be enough for you?
Yes I'm sure we can switch and we'll make bands with the people who want to play certain songs etc.
I'm really looking forward to it.
Two Standel's with two Standel Acoustic Magnifiers... two for each amp of course.
Imagine you guitar sound going through six JBL D130's
I'm really looking forward to it aswell. BTW I wouldn't mind at all to try out one of your old Gibsons Danman.
I'll see what I can do.
It also depends on how many people will be travelling with me and what fits in my car. How are you going?
I'm going by train arriving at Amsterdam Centraal 10.27 Saturday morning. I havn't figured out how to get the rest of the way, but there is still time...
The night train is a wonderful thing, and it's no trouble to bring your guitar
Well lets keep in touch. I'm picking up Dr.Nyl from the airport sometime saturday and I'm sure I can combine it with the train station. I don't know if Dr.Nyl knowns what time he is arriving yet. But we'll work something out if you want.
Sounds good Danman, thanks. We'll arrange the pick up when we know everybodies when-and-where's.
You're all welcome to try my gear.
So yesterday I got the second hand 65 Deluxe reverb reissue. So together with my 62 white tolex bassman we have 5 amps (ratrod is taking 1 and will are you taking 2)? That should be ok, right?
Absolutely, and what a bunch of sweet amps that is.
if needed i can bring the two amps, just lemme know in time. otherwise, i just want to take one, because of the recording stuff i'd like to bring.
Should I bring a box of tissues? There will be a whole lot of drooling going on with all this stunning gear.
