Wow,
Everybody cancelling out!!!
Latest, I'm having alot of trouble with my Father now too and He got really mad at me today for just wanting to go to a practice tonight ,,, and is having serious desertion Anxieties, can barely stand, gets mixed up then yells at me and I'm worried about him
He's going on 95!
I had second thoughts all along too but worked on getting a lady to come in part of the day Sat. but after todays events and that many are cancelling out now too I may have to reconsider?
Keep me up to date, All of You!
Thanks, Sincerely!

I will be there! Your ears may regret it, but I'll be there!

I won't make it as Meshugga Beach Party is playing at Bay to Breakers this year - back for our sixth time after taking last year off - and we've got to be at the race at 5AM Sunday. Have a blast everyone!

DrGretsch, I am so very sorry to learn about your dad's situation. You are a great son to care for him as you do. We should all be so lucky to receive the level of attention and caring that you give to him.
Mel, I am sorry to hear that you won't be making it either. The Bay to Breakers race must be a very cool event to play. Where do you play? At the beginning? At the end?

well, i think all of us would be arriving in the morning and leaving sometime in the evening
i really hope folks will come. this last few months has been a really trying period all around, and i know that when i saw everybody at Christmas it really raised my spirits. maybe that'll be true for the rest of y'all, too.

Thanks Ric12: and everyone else.
I tried suggesting a few times about nice places like where my mom is at but my father is so resistant that it sets him off and then he starts accuses me of all kinds of things and attacks me verbally and starts clenching his fists and all that and scares me like he's going to drop, etc.
He shows that pattern on other things too though like utility bills when they come in, services, some other people we know, in general ,,, A little bit of OCD ,,, You know.
Then he bounces back to another side which is really pleasant and receptive.
He's been a doctor for many years so he always has to feel in control of everything too, ego and can be very critical of everything but he's going on 95!
I have my brother, and some others, now showing alot of concern ,,, but he's away in another state but does understand cause he saw some of it when he was out here a few times.
Anyway, very tough to deal with since it's all on me, more or less.
We have a new lady now, someone we've known in the past, who's very charitable and will come in if there is an emergency or if I have to be away for a gig or something,
Let's see what developes in the next day or so.
I sure hope as many can make it as we can.
These are only twice a year,

OK Guys ... Some are showing up this evening, most tomorrow morning. ALL I know is that We'll Be Rocking the Old Schoolhouse

Sad to say it, but there's no way I'm going to be able to make it now. If having a maintenance window Sunday AM wasn't bad enough, I've got another maintenance window on Saturday afternoon.
-
macphisto
well, i'm doing my laundry so i'll be presentable. or at least not too funky LOL.

Sorry to hear that you won't be able to make it out Bonedaddy ... C-Ya soon Macphisto

Sorry I could not make it. Just got home from work. I just put in 4 - 16 hour days, WOW, crazy busy but good stuff. We are ramping up for our opening season at the Green Music Center and last week we were tuning the hall. I was up in the rafters hanging lights and positioning them and focusing them on stage also learning the new digital Soundcraft board. It's a dream come true job, but I'm still sorry I missed the jam. I am hoping to make the Sierra jam but that is just 2 weeks before our Grand opening so who knows what will happen. I am sure you all had a great time.

I'm envious. I'd have much rather been playing with you guys than deploying network gear in Santa Clara and Shanghai.... Glad to hear you guys had so much fun.
-

SissieKidd and I spent yesterday visiting with Scott, Dave, Greg (the drummer), and my Mom ... just unwinding from Saturday. Hopefully she'll get a chance today to run thru the pictures, so that I can re-size and post them this evening.
A BIG Thanks Again for all that made the LONG trek out to make this event such an AWESOME Success.

Joe, glad to hear that the Jam was a great success. I was sure thinking about you guys all day Saturday wishing that I was there at the Red Schoolhouse. And I'm glad that the venue worked out well too. I can't wait to see the photographs and hear a bit of a write-up from you.

Hi Guys,
The Spirit was there!
Even in small numbers! ,,,
I didn't get a whole lot of footage though being that it was kind of dark in there per se', so the lighting doesn't come out all that well on my OLD camcorder (the new ones are alot better and cheaper ,,,) and there was only a handful of us there who actually made it ,, plus we took alot of breaks just to chat, catch up on things
I tell you though, the area was beautiful! ,,, Long drive for me but beautiful! ,,,
The birds and the trees, the butterflies and whatever else!

I spent 7 hours online yesterday bringing up an overlay network and trouble shooting MPLS connectivity. You guys suck.
just kidding, glad you guys had a good time; looking forward to some pics.

Also, On my way up, after getting lost for about the zillionth time, via, lots of side roads and deviations, I stopped at a music store not too far away called "Mother Load Music" and they were really nice in there.
To make a long story short, I saw this killer looking "off brand" Doubleneck that had a Bass neck half like a Gibson EB2 and a 6th string half like an SG ,,, and this thing looked fantastic but I'm sure was going to be way out of my price range, if I was tempted in the slightest? ,,, but, then when I looked at the tag, they were only asking $399 for it and the owner at the store said he'd throw in a brand new Fender strap and a tuner and it came with a case and he just wanted to off the guitar and being that I wasn't sure if there was going to be a Bass at the jam?, I went for it!
Also, I plugged it in to see if it works and not only worked but sounded fantastic and had all these tap switches, modifications of sounds and played like butter.
I thought it was a dream.
Recently I've been posting about a quest for an SG but this guitar was an SG -X2 and not only that but I now have a Fantastic sounding Bass like one of those sought after Gibson EB 2's!
Anyway, Carla (SissieKidd) arrived to meet me at the store and escorted me the rest of the way to the destination.
I know, I never would have found it without her help
Glad to see familiar faces there when I arrived
Also, both local drummers there were fantastic including the cook or owner of the School house.
Some good musicians up there too!
I couldn't stay all evening though cause my duties at home were calling!
Big time!
Another story ,, ...
Nice getaway!
Thanks afm_380

Tubs
That's cool Dr Gretsch, when I was about 10 or 11 my mate and me had our eye on one of those. We thought between us we could get the cash together to buy it, then chop it in half and we'd be on our way to hard rock fame and fortune. Luckily for the guitar it didn't happen. But the guitar bug bit me and I don't know why but I still want a double neck.
-
macphisto
Geoff, you should post video anyway...people can often adjust the brightness on their players, and anything is better than nothin'

DrGretsch
Hi Macphisto,
Good Idea!
I just put one up just now on the Tube and it's not too bad on visibility but I've noticed recently that Youtube has been really compressing the sound big time!
More then usual,
Almost all my videos; and others I've recenlty viewed are really quiet and dark sounding now.
- Even some of the Duane Eddy videos I just watched from Europe.
Facebook is the opposite.
All the videos I've put up on FB are crystal clear and sound just as good as the originals.
Compared to the original clip I downloaded, the youtube video sounds like there's a pillow over it.
I guess they have to compress things now to make space and the zilliions of videos on there now.
By the way, It was great to see you again.
We'll have to hit "Guitar Showcase" again sometime and hook up with Keith and Yetto and others!
Grab a meal, etc.
Long over due,
Here's a video clip from Sat.,
http://www.youtube.com/watc...
Fritz is in there too and does a nice solo on his "Nobel Guitar"but you can't see him, nor the drummer.
That drummer was excellant and really had some good dynamics too.
-
macphisto
yes, that video isn't a problem visually at all.
it was totally worth the drive up and back just to see you and the rest of the folks. we've definitely got to get together more often. i can't believe i hadn't seen Burch and Linda for almost two years. as the youngsters say nowadays, that's cray-cray.

Fritz and I spent the 4 day Memorial Weekend at Surf Camp (just a few minutes down the hill from our favorite fall gathering location). We were paired up into the same band ( the infamous Not Named Four ... some were calling us the Un-Called Fours ... ;o). Anyway ... that's my excuse for not getting any pictures posted here. I promise I'll be getting to them soon ...
