2012 Nashville RoundUp RideShare

  1. Looking for a way to save a few bucks and enjoy the company of GDPers before the Roundup even starts? Consider ride sharing!

I suggest we try a simple clearinghouse, maybe in a format something like this:

I'm (driving/looking for a ride) from (fill location in the blank) at about (fill time/date in the blank).

    PM me!

Add additional information as needed. If this is your first time going and you want to drive, you might like to caravan with others - why not ask here?

  2. My brother Ray and Josh (JBGretschguy) plan to ride together.

    When does actual sign-up/reservations start?

  3. Great to see this up & running. Hope my car is on the road by then, but if not, will know in a couple of months.

I'm in Beaumont, TX, and hoping to see my 1st Roundup event.

    Cheers, Joe

  4. planning a drive from Albuquerque, NM.... any one out this far west planning to trek out ?

  5. I'm flying this year only because of time constraints I'd thought I'd have.

Last year's drive out & back with Curt & Redrocker was a blast.

  6. Since I can't drive anymore, I could use a ride from Louisville. I'd like to be in Nashvile for the annual Thursday night BBQ.

    – Bear

I'm pretty sure that Mr. & Mrs. Suprdave will have you covered, buddy! ;-)

  8. You know I've got your back, Bear.

  9. Hey if anyone is coming from Canada, in the vicinity of Kingston Ontario let me know or I could meet up with some of yous since I'm going to be riding solo if I'm going

  10. I laughed so hard on that ride back I lost my lil' hat.

  11. MAN...is it June already? Almost? Holy cow.

Last year, we opened registration in July. I've still got some details to iron out with Mom Phila, then I'll put up the goods on the happnin' page for all to see. And we'll probably just open the floor for registrations then.

Good idea here, for caravanin' n' such.

Ride, ride, ride, hitchin' a ride.

    Happy holiday weekend, all.

  12. I laughed so hard on that ride back I lost my lil' hat.

    – redrocker

    Mudboggers.

  13. Woooohoo! Can't wait!

  14. Heard That, Josh. I start missing you guys the day after it's over every year.

  15. Thanks Dave, you're the best!

The Roundup feeling lasts for a long time. I still have good dreams about it

Steve, please reserve my usual room for me in the cabin.

My Father's Day present will be the remainder of the money I need to make the trip possible. My kids are the best a dad could ask for.

  16. NJBob, if you require safe parking again, it is yours for the asking.

  17. Thanks Bear. I may take up the offer (again).

  18. I laughed so hard on that ride back I lost my lil' hat.

    – redrocker

    Mudboggers.

    – crowbone

Originally I lost my mudbogger, but I changed it to a lil' hat.

  19. Okay, ya'll. You'ns get on over't the Happnin's page and you'll see the registration details!

  20. still planning the drive from Alb., NM... Ojo, you in?

  21. I'll probably be driving solo from Ardmore. I'm planning on bringing my Twin Custom 15. It's a big heavy mother. That Twin and my big fat behind will be a pretty good load for Conchieta's little Hyundai.

  22. Richard, you didn't take the casters off, did you? ;-)

I'm probably going to weenie out and bring my Princeton Reverb. Or plug into Richard's amp. :D

  23. Ok, I think it's been long enough now...what is with the little hats?

  24. You kind of had to be at the Swagfest last year, Miss Deed. The lil' hats were give aways that some one brought, I think Proteus, that had a "G" painted on them. Crowbone, John, would get the swag together for giveaways and he and Joe would call out each item and the last item was usually "And a Lil' Hat..."

  25. Yep, it was a literal laugh riot....

Crowbone kept upping the ante each time, rattling off giveaway prizes like a sideshow barker on a late night auction show... topping off the longer and longer lists with "And A Lil' Hat" -- from the pile of little hats which Joe or Proteus had piled on the giveaways table.

They were, literally, little cowboy hats (and some lil' cowboy boots too, I think) made of either painted wood or plastic painted to look something like wood.

There may be a recording of it, I seem to remember Curt capturing it somehow.
