The Lee Rocker Band
With long-time (and original) Stray Cats bassist Lee thumping the gleaming black doghouse, Buzz Campbell as his right-hand man, the one-and-only Brophy Dale on his left, and Jimmy Sage on drums, what's there to say?
It's some of the finest roots rock going, with two fine guitarists who lend their unique instrumental voices both to distinctive, individual leadwork and to perfectly meshed comps – and the band sounds as smooth as it sounds powerful.
We already know Buzz plays a White Falcon; Brophy is best known for his unique King bound f-hole Teletype – yep, built by the King bass company. The guitar features TV Jones Classics, near-bass-dimension jumbo frets, a Bigsby – and a relic job Brophy didn't ask for. The guitar is actually only a couple years old, and Brophy would just as soon it not have been pre-worn. He says it would have a few dings and dents from his use anyway.
Brophy is also a confirmed Gretsch ampaholic, and uses one on tour as well.
Here they are on the Fender Spirit of Rock-n-Roll Stage.
