I noticed that also. I haven't looked in last years catalog but noticed it was missing from the website most of the year. That doesn't stop me from wanting one. Only my wallet does that job.

Euro's are awake again. Yawn...
I want to thank Mr. Proteus and his generals for organising and realising this Online NAMM 2010 Shadow Event. I also want to thank the other GDP members for hanging out on the interweb, making these days a long fun moment.
It has been the best online experience I have ever seen. Four days long, I seriously neglected the world around me and destroyed my spine behind the notebook screen, to make sure I did not miss a thing. Even the "road movie" leading to the event was creating the right vibe already!
Excitement delivered in big chuncks and cyber party talk in between. (virtual cigar anyone?)
What did we get?
Many wonderful pictures, cool videos, audio tracks and sensational text reports, about the most intriguing guitar brand and artists. And last but not least, the quizes (WIN WIN)
Thank you very much for the extraordinary cool online broadcasting of Gretsch news and more.

Good old Cruyff - the inventor of many bi-lingual neologisms no doubt - but also a fine footballer and inventor of the 'heroin chic' fashion statement. It took the fashion world almost thirty years to catch up with him. Truly an innovator.

Maybe next time Keith!
I hadn't planned on going to NAMM, but I got lucky! Ok...so it was almost 5pm and the show was closing, they're about to run everyone out of the place and Joe asks me if I want to play the Eddie Cochran tribute guitar...dude! (I'm not worthy!) It wasn't the right time/place to put it through its paces so I can't really give a review other than the fact that it's an extremely solid and beautifully built guitar. I want one, but I have to find a divorce lawyer first (just kiddin' sweetie!)
It was kind of somber for me, to see Eddie's ring he was wearing and lucky rabbit's foot he had in his pocket when he died.
I was talking to Bobby Cochran (turns out we went to the same high school!) and we discussed Eddie's bridge angle. I'm trying to remember exactly, but Bobby said a friend of Eddie's told him that Eddie did that because a black blues musician told Eddie that if he pushed the bridge up on the treble side, it would be easier to bend the strings. Which Bobby said makes sense because doing that shortens the scale length of the neck or something to that effect. Go figure!
It was a pleasure meeting everyone, especially Duane and Deed who were awesome...THAT was definitely one of the coolest things that's ever happened to me. Bobby was terrific. Thanks to Tim and Joe. And long live Eddie Cochran.

J. Cruyff was a genius.
The Dutch teams of both the 1974 & 1978 World cups were fantastic teams and it was unfortunate for them and for World football that each time they made the final of the World cup they ended up playing the host nation. The 1974 Dutch team were spectacular and I will never forget that night in Dortmund when they tore the Brazilians apart. Magic.
Yours
Drew

J.Cruijff: En un momento dado.
Spanish speaking people would laugh: It's a direct translation of a dutch saying.
And just a few of his many wisdoms:
-Every disadvantage has its advantage
-I don’t make a lot of mistakes, because it’s hard for me to be wrong
-They can never beat you, buy you can lose from them
-Football is a simple game. It’s just very hard to play it simple.
-Coincidence is logical
-The hardest thing for players and humans is to understand that there is nothing to understand…
-Listen, if I wanted you to understand it all, I would have explained it better…
And he was the greatest football player to ever walk the face of the earth.....
