Bolos are cool.
I have a bolo for the first three Helpful Picker Hints describing how Gretsch bolos might be used in emergency situations a musician might encounter gigging or on the road.
Be imaginative, be specific.
YOu could use them to repair a busted guitar strap or strap button-- much like a string is used on an acoustic guitar strap to tie it to the end of the neck when there is no button available.
Use it as a guitar pick!
Replcae a broken case latch or handle
Use it as a tourniquet after a rattlesnake bite.
Tie off to mount a strap to an acoustic guitar!
assuming it had no neck strap button
(My favorite part of the bolo is how the steerbull's brains are erupting out of his skull! Like maybe the branding hurt that much, or he's been forced to listen to techno.)
Tie off a wound recieved in bar fight.Tourniquet.

A string "mute", or use behind the bridge to reduce any overtones
