Is it only me, or does anyone else get a sense of this from Kim in some of these photographs?

Curt said: This IS the event not to miss
You know, this Nashville event really is an incredible event. But, you don't need to travel to Nashville to attend one of these events, as our European GDP brethern have proven. It is quite gratifying to put on one of these in your own backyard with your neighboring GDP'ers and watch it kind of evolve on its own. Naturally, Joe's and Fred's largesse can quickly transform one of these Roundups into an over-the-top one-of-a-kind event, but even without that, they are still going to be great fun.I would encourage others in the Northeast, Southwest, etc., to consider organizing a Roundup of their own and see how it plays out. The friendships that are cemented, and the memories created, will last a lifetime.

No question, lets not forget where it all started and how it grew into these events.http://gretschpages.com/forum/meet-greet/nj-pa-ct-etc-jam-session-at-wenzels-house...
With that said all the planets become aligned at Phila's and it's simply MAGIC, zero room for improvement.

Bax, the pic with you standing there with your hands in your pocket says it all.
I wouldn't want to take anything away from this past weekend but I would have showed whether Fred, Joe, Steve, and Kim came or not but I am very happy that they did attend. These memories are already burned in for LIFE.

What happened, Sir Proteus, to the photo with Baxter in a black t-shirt with an orange flaming G-brand? It was so cool. Bax, where did you have that made? Are they for sale anywhere?

Ric, I didn't have it made, and honestly, I'm not entirely sure where I got it. I think it came from Mike or Joe a few years back.
A lot of folks commented on the flaming G brand, so maybe that's something they should do again.

You know I was thinking of getting a G brand tattoo, but maybe I should find someone that will actually brand it. I've always been somewhat intrigued by the idea, and what could be a more fitting pattern?

But wait, that's not all...
...by a long shot.
It's become traditional at Roundups, after supper on the last night, for Gretsch to share the love - to give back to the community. As any number of us have said, it's not about the prizes, and we'd be pleased and proud to have Fred and Joe attend even if they didn't come carrying gifts.
For Joe, I know, it's about being there, about the people, about the music. And the prize-giving is a chance to build some excitement and - more than anything - create thrilling moments for folks who weren't expecting anything more than a weekend of fun and music. I'm sure anyone who's won one of the big prizes will tell you it's like heaven opened up and poured forth - the looks on their faces are as priceless as the stuff. For some, the experience is almost literally life-changing - remind me to tell you about Dylan, who won an Executive last year.
But enough of the small talk – tell us what's behind the curtain!
.
Right, well everyone got a VIP tag, and everyone made a romp across the swag table. But besides that, there were at least a dozen stools, some Gretsch Zippo lighters, license plates, "family-four-pack" crystal drinking glasses, several 5222 amps, and - of course - a couple of poker sets. That was the little stuff.
The big stuff included a 5122 Electromatic doublecut, a rare White Falcon acoustic, an Executive amp – and a Custom Shop Billy Zoom Jet, presented by the builder himself.
(Please ignore what may look like a 6122-62 in a couple of the shots. It wasn't really there, and no one won it.)

But before we actually came to the gift-fest, it was time for Fred's Famous Two-Dollar Quiz...
.
...during which Fred passed out crisp two-buck bills for correct answers to questions drawn from the Fred & Joe Show. You remember the Fred & Joe Show. It was held waaaay back before the branding - which must have completely wiped some folks' memories, because I have to say, I've seen much quicker crowds...

Oct 21, 2009 4:15 p.m. Proteus:
And onward to the giveaways. The now-traditional format is by now familiar to Rounduppers (and faithful readers). All hopeful winners-to-be inscribe their marks on one of their own guitar picks in Magic Marker; all the picks go in a guitar with f-holes (in this case the 5222). (I've always wondered, if I play fingerstyle and don't use picks, do I really have to chop off a thumb?)
Then Fred's Lovely Assistant, Miss Kimberly Falcon, shakes the guitar around upside down, in the time-honored manner of anyone who's dropped a damn pick in a damn guitar, till a pick or two spills out on the floor. Joe throws his size 12 brogan down over the first pick he sees, and the owner of the pick wins the prize at hand.
Someone must've done some panicked mental arithmetic, divided the headcount into the number of prizes, and concluded that one per customer was never going to cut it. Fred, Joe, and Steve Stern (who managed the prize table inventory) all collaborated in calling out lots of prizes.
"This time we have a stool, a family four-pack of glasses, a license plate, and...how many T-shirts from the table, Steve?"
"FOUR T-shirts. No, FIVE!"
I think they actually worked it up to seven T-shirts from the table.
Here's how all that looked going down:

Curt, no one knows how badly I wanted to be there to meet everyone. It looks like you guys had almost too much fun. Anytime you have the chance to hang with the classiest of class guys, Mr. Gretsch; and the enthusiasm and energy of Joe Carducci can't help but kick you up a notch or two. I can't imagine being with a group of people I would enjoy any more than you guys. Give me another chance.

A Billy Zoom Jet. Jeez, what a prize! AND an Executive amp? Whoo boy!

Oct 21, 2009 4:32 p.m. Proteus:
... and the envelope please....
After all the "little" prizes (like 80.00 glass sets, 125.00 jerseys, and 200.00 amps) were distributed, all previous winners' picks (that would be EVERYONE'S) went back into the guitar to give us all a shot at new guitars and amps.
First out of the f-hole was FrequentFlyer909's, who won the 5122. Only FF909 is left-handed. Joe remembered this, and - unwilling to burden Paul with a guitar that would be unwieldy flipped upside down - announced that a new left-handed Electromatic is coming officially at NAMM 2010, and that, if he could wait, Paul would get the first one available then!
Paul said that would be alright.
( See and hear the giveaway and the announcement here; thanks to Brian_66 for the video.)
So what to do with the 5122 Kim was shaking? Anyone who knows Joe knows the answer: give it to someone else!
Who turned out to be 57Chet.
.
Next up, the White Falcon acoustic. It's a magnificent bird, and it sounds great, no one could deny - but it manages to combine all my own personal least favorite Gretsch elements: G-brand, forked headstock, cowboy regalia, AND the triangle sound hole. I was praying I didn't win it...
My prayers were answered when it was awarded to Nobody. (And he likes EVERYthing about it, so you see how the stars align sometimes.)
.
The Gretsch Executive. The amp dreams are made of. 20 fat watts of dripping crystalline tube tone into a juicy 15, with 3-D reverb you can see trails in, not to mention throb-o-tron vibrato to create the trails.
Who shall win the Executive? I know! The guy who brought the amazing JB Lawrenceville Princeton clone we'd all been playing through (and lusting after) all weekend!
Let's hear it for Curt, shall we?
.
Before the Grand Prize Zoom Jet was awarded, its builder Steven Stern was tapped to describe how the guitar was developed: that Billy Zoom's personal 50s Jet was x-rayed to establish the exact pattern of chambering inside (it's slightly more hollow than current production Jets, with no members from the back actually touching the top); templates were made from the patterns of wear all over the guitar. The banjo-tuner-buttons-on-Imperial-tuners were duplicated; the Synchromatic bridge was screwed to the top per Billy's guitar, and Seymour Duncan Dynasonics were spec'ed to match Billy's.
And all this could be yours for the low low price of just 10,000.00!
Or - if you happened to be Brian_66, and attending the 2nd Annual Nashville Roundup...it could be yours for the loan of a guitar pick.
Not bad.
