Bass knob on the Executive

Can anyone tell me if the volume goes out when the bass knob or other knobs for that matter are turned to the "0" position (all the way down).... just got my new Executive and testing it all out to see if It needs any TLC or has been tampered with....

Not sure what you mean by "goes out".
On my Executive, if the tone controls were cranked to zero, the amp had a thin sound (to be expected) so it would have sounded less loud (i.e., less full). However, it would certainly be audible.
If you are saying that turning knobs (other than the volume knob) to zero results in no sound, I would say there is a problem.

Thanks, I will check it again tonight, I just got it yesterday and for some reason it seemed like it had no volume when I turned down the bass...mmm ( to "0")....other than that it sounds amazing
, not really too thriled on the tremolo settings but I'm not a big tremolo freak...but if I want it i'll use my Tremolux for that...

Not really, i seem to remember. Others may chime in, but i seem to recall that there are (some) Fender amps that go silent when you turn the tone-controls to zero. After a mod, my HotRod Deluxe did that too.
Isn't there a tale of the '666' position ... best tone when the (three) tone-controls are all set to 6 or something ...

Unfortunately, I believe that someone has likely sold you the bass amp rather than the guitar amp. When you turn down the bass pot all the way, naturally, you will hear nothing from a bass amp.

I say it's normal. Some tone stacks which include a Midrange pot work that way. My Executive and old silverface Bandmaster Reverb, for example. Also my Sound City 50w head. Don't worry about it.

Yeah, tommy59, but yours are guitar amps.

StuRat
lol, yes this is definitely a guitar amp
, ya'll are messing with me now....lol...

I seem to recall that mine does something similar. not sure if its completely quiet but the volume drops considerably when the tone knobs are at 0. crank em up!

Rockabilly
Mine does the same thing and I got it brand new

StuRat you da man! Thanks for bringing this up, mine does it also and it is nice to know they all do this, my Playboy doesn't! It is like they are an active part of the amp instead of a passive thing, it is actually rather cool and you gotta admit the thing has thumpin good bass and razor sharp highs! Man I love this amp!!
-
MitchC
Mine does it as well. Never have dialed it to zero, so never knew.
Man, the Weber Cali ceramic 15 is soundin' SWEET in the Exec. !

Yes bobcat; I too love this amp, I'm ssooooo happy I went this route and not with another for the Chet playing. My Tremolux has a totally different thing going so it’s great to have two completely different sounds from the two amps... I hooked up both of them the other night in stereo and WOW, it was amazing…..

So Mitch, Is it really that much better... i just can’t see it sounding any better than it already does
...was the original speaker blown or did you just want an up-grade
