Veneer lifting

This old Airline from the late 50s (?) needs a neck reset amongst other things - but before that I would appreciate advice on how to tackle the lifted veneer top near the neck pocket.

It's bowed upwards and needs quite a bit of force to clamp it down. If I were to try and glue & clamp it down I fear it will simply spring up again. Any thoughts?

Here's the guitar, apparently these were mostly branded Kay. But the ones sold through Montgomery Wards were 'badge engineered' as Airline. More 'sticker engineered' in this case. Nice old metallic duco in a cool frosted green colour.
