Upgrading Gretsch’s original Strap Buttons for new S-Lock Schallers

1

So I've just got a pair of the new S-Lock Schallers and I ask you guys how the hell do I remove the original Gretsch screws, I've tried some Philips screwdrivers but no success...

Has anyone have a "tutorial" or even a video on how to do it? I've searched but only found pictures of the original strap button, no instructions on how to remove them.

Here are some pics:

I’d like to know how to keep my Gretsch strap locks from turning out? On my guitar the entire screw comes out of the guitar when I undo my strap. I would imagine to get the studded screws out use small vise grips with something to pad the threads against damage.

Use a small screwdriver to back the screw out of the body. You can see the slot in the top in the aforementioned picture so you can do that. If the driver doesn't work, you can grasp the screw with padded pliers to twist it out.

After removing the the strap knob, thread two nuts onto the post. Turn the one closest to the body counter clockwise. The post will come right out.

Wood glue on the threads.

So I've tried removing them with some Philips Screwdrivers with no luck cause I could not find one size that fitted.

Instead I tried something else, VERY CAREFULLY...

I used the drill chuck! Tighten the chuck onto the screw nice and tight, unscrew carefully and voilà!

So here're some pictures, these new Schallers S-Locks are more secure than the old ones:

I just used the drill chuck as well... worked like a charm.
