I have decided to have some fun with my little supro tosca. My first real project guitar. I want to cut a stainless pick guard. Do I have to do anything to protect the electronics? Pics.
Stainless steel pick guard.

You'll be fine with the electronics, just make sure the plate is grounded (usually the components screwed on is enough.
I'm guitar-sitting a Fender Jagstang that has a stainless plate like that (though smaller) and that's how it's grounded. I was really amazed that only one wire was going to the output jack (mounted on the plate) because the plate itself served as the ground.

I am still thinking on it. I want to go with a fifties car look maybe. A deeper red and cream two tone with steel and brass. My budget for this is low. I want to find a brass nut and bridge. Waiting for cheap ebay items. I wonder if a gold Gibson AB-1 bridge and tailpiece might fit. There is one for cheap on ebay. I'm still open for ideas.

That looks like a heck of a lot of fun.
I've got one of those booteek Trussart guitars -- the all steel ones -- and even though it's a Tele style it is absolutely the quietest single coil guitar I've ever played. I'm sure it has to do with all that insulating steel.
I love the '50's car idea. It kinda looks Flash Gordon to me, which, while a few decades earlier, is a complementary style.

This is a fun guitar. I was going to sell it but I have too much fun playing it. The single coil has decent tone with zero noise. I can crank it up all the way and run wild. The best thing about it is that it was free!
I figure this is a good platform for learning a little bit about modding.

Hmmm, I hadn't thought of Flash Gordon. That's an idea worth looking into. Thanks.

I will be modding this guitar in the spring. Mostly cosmetics. Here is the raw material for the pick guard.

Another question. I know I ask alot. Is there a tremolo/vibrato that will fit this small guitar? I was hoping to find a Bigsby style. I don't want to have to do any routing on this thing. Thanks.

If you need a chrome B3 (says it on the box...B3) I have one that is in the box and never used. I'll make you a deal!
Note: I can't see your pics right now.. and I'm not familiar with the guitar. So, I'm just throwing it out there since you mentioned a bigsby.

I have been looking and I think I need a B5. But I need a cheap one. Real cheap.
Even a cheap copy or no name.

My first electric (a Kent in the 60's) had a SS pickguard.
Also, Setzer's gonna try to do a Chrome (plastic) guard for my 3140. -

I found that chrome on an old burnt out, crushed, shot full of holes, car in the woods. I'll have to do a little cutting and bending but I think it will look funky. I like that it says "Custom line".
