The grommets for the pickups and pick guard on my old '66 Ric were crushed flat. They were also very stiff and distorted after 45+ years. Boiling them in water in the microwave for 1 minute brought them back as good as new! Just thought I'd pass this on.

Good to hear! I've got a Strat 'guard with a few old n' crusty grommets.

Don't know if it matters but the grommets were small. Used a shot glass and 6 grommets at a time, Very impressive results.
