Looking for some Clipper Parts….

1

I am rebuilding a 1960 Clipper. The Pick Guard bracket I have is bent... a new one would be nice if I could find one...are they the same as an anni? a truss rod cover...mine is warped...but will try to "iron" it flatter...lol pick gaurd mounting screws.... I have searched blackwater, angela's... stew mac, any ideas??

Yes they would be the same as on an Anniversary or a 6120 etc. You should try to fix yours as Gretsch 2nd generation brackets are getting harder to find. Stick it in a vice to straighten it out. Be sure and protect it with tape so as to not mar the surfaces. If that doesn't work give member Westdeerpirate, Len, a pm to see if he is still reproducing them. I got a couple from him and they looked nice and work well.

The screws are easy...just go to a mom n pop hardware that has the large selection of pull out drawers to find what you need. First you need to know the sizes. I'll try to get you a list together here with photos for ref.

I make truss rod covers but there is nothing wrong with an old warped one unless its so bad that the screw holes have torn out.

Paul,

I actually HAVE the original screws.... just thought IF there were new ones available..they may look better... I will stick with the old ones...I will try to straighten the bracket...but have sent a PM as well to see if I can get a new one...the truss cover is simply warped... a warm iron with a cloth over it should smooth it out...it's not THAT bad....and Thanks!

Hey, good to hear you still have some of the old parts. If it where me I'd just stick to using them. I'll be doing a batch of guards really soon and I'll try to get yours done then. The waterside is done already.

Hope Len gets back in touch with you. He hasn't posted here in a long while.

Good luck with your project
