I've picked up a G6241 Gretsch (TKL) case from Guitar Center for my orange finish G5120. The first case I received had the black Tolex covering lifting away from the curves of the case body, near the bottom of the case where the seam is. I sent it back and received a replacement G6241 and it is much better but the Tolex is still lifting just a hair around the curves on this seam (barely noticeable). Also, this one seems to have a few small air bubbles under the Tolex in places, and I'm able to work those out.
This case is used for the G6120 series guitars (also 2.75" depth) and I'm wondering if anyone else has seen the Tolex lifting around the seams at the curves of the case body? If it's a somewhat common issue I'm tempted to just keep the replacement case.
Where do people leave their Bigsby arms when closing the case? I've been leaving mine all the way up in the ready position, against the stop. I figured a little downward pressure on the Bigsby is better than swinging the arm 180 degrees and then having it put more tension on the strings when the lid is closed. The arm just leaves a slight indentation in the padding of the arch top G6241 case.
