Howdy groovers, I'm going to swap out my ceramic Filtertrons and install some T90s. Do I need to put 250K pots in? What are the tonal ramifications if I dont? Just curious Cheers.

Generally I consider P90s in the 500k pot range, so I'd leave it alone.

The lower the number, the more highs get cut (I'm sure I'm missing some scientific explanation in there), which is why tele and strat pups usually use 250K to tame some of the top end.

That's why I say leave the 500k for the P90s, as they usually need all the high end they can get for clarity.

Most P90's will be too dull sounding for most people with 250K pots.

So should Surf90s use 500k pots?I'm going to take the TV Classic and Magnatron out of my Jet Pro and put them in a 5122.So I want to put Surf90s in their place.I had 500k pots in the Jet Pro so I was hoping they would work with the Surf90s.

The bigger, the better.

I've got 1Meg pots paired with my Seymour Duncan Phat Cats. Try as many different pot combinations as you can, it's about the cheapest mod you can do.
